That I don't have the answer too. But that is what Hextall is paid to do. He failed, horribly, at providing this team any kind of stability in net.

What is it, 5 goalies used in 23 games? That is inexcusable.

We, the posters on hockeybuzz, stated it many times over that the goalies on this team couldn't be counted for the entire season and Hextall's solution was to pick up, off of waivers, a backup AHL goalie.

I mean if we the posters on this site can see it, the guy being paid to run this team should have been able to see it.

i'm planning to by end of the year. it's not that i can't. fusion seems to be on track. i still have pain in my upper hip and right on the spine...just has me leery. don't feel ready.

I really don't think 3C is a huge problem on this team. Weal's a strong possession player, and is pacing for around 30 points, which is fine as a stop-gap.

That's been my view as well. Weal wasn't hurting them and was at times generating offense. Great faceoff % also. As a stop-gap he was fine. For all the talk to the contrary, you'd think we'd see other options like Laughton, Lehtera, splitting up Giroux and Couturier but none of those options were tried in games.

Flyers sign Bob to a ridiculous contract in the offseason, Sandstrom comes over next year as backup. Next year Sandstrom is traded because he wants to be a starter and wins a couple Vezina trophies in a couple years with new team.

Boruk characterized hextalls gm tenure as “authoritarian” and that no one was going to tell him how to do his job.

Looks like the old guard won out.

they hung both goalies to dry vs toronto. could have been 8-0 before toronto scored their 5th. stolarz did a great job.
