Why would you want to surrender that much to a division team when you can land this guy as a ufa? Like trading JT to TOR when TOR knew they could get him for no assets. True Trotz and Lou want to improve the team for this year but their first priority is getting the top two centers to play at a high level without worrying about Panarin getting top minutes. So I say it is less likely unless Panarin signs on first else he is a likely UFA for some other team with marquee lights in a big city.

That whole thing was a smooth move by captain scumbag and the Leafs. He’s such a competitive snake. He knew if he asked for a trade it woulda cost the Maple Farts Nylander or Marner and didn’t want to see that happen. One of the worst cases of tampering. I wish the league could prove it.

Things will get tougher in 2nd quarter. Can Greiss and Lehner be consistent enough to get the Isles to the playoffs? History says NO. WHICH is why they should augment their team with Jacob Markstrom and Loui "Rubber Ducky" Ericksson. They need that viking influence.

Isles are already a more respectable team because of Barry Trotz, he is giving them what he gave to the capitals&Preds before that... hes implementing defense&sctructure. Mitch Korn a goalie guru can make chicken sh*t into chicken salad when it comes to goalies by advancing their technique&craft. And he can take good to great goalies like a Holtby to Hof caliber, SC Winning goalies etc. Point being Isles are in very good hands and on a nightly basis the compete level&product will add up to more wins. Will Trotz deliver a SC? I dont know but I think thats unfair bc the Isles clearly dont have the horses of the Caps,Leafs,Bolts, Pens etc who have 3,4,5 superstars or star players who can beat you any night. Most have 2 no.1 centers, 2 top lines, 1 or 2 no.1 D and a Top goalie& depth. Isles are fighting uphill battle in talent department
