I hope Homie was right and we are looking to make a move for the top nine. We are a legit 3rd line C away from not falling flat on our face once skinners shooting % and our gotaltending come back down to Earth.

imo, those three first-rounders are untouchable at this point

So anyone hear what’s wrong with bogo? He’d be a serviceable d-man if he could just stay healthy...

yeah, he's been pretty good lately...a winning streak will help that, but it shouldn't take away from how he's managed the team ever since his big moves on October 20
- Michael Pachla

He's getting the most out of his guys that he can. That's all I can ask for

Sure hope so, the last thing we need to do is start trading futures again. Winning streak is great and all but....

Great reed, Mike. Made me think back how our 80s teams did well but never took the extra step into elite. We hade #11 of course but next up was Tony McKegny....not exactly Gretz/messier. Man those Isle and Oil teams were stacked.

But tonight will be ours. 5-3 Sabres. Elie fights Kane, Dahlin scores shorthanded, Jack 4 pts.

Those first rounders should be untouchable. Smith, O’Regan, Bailey, Erod, Sobotka, Elie, Wilson, Scandella, Beaulieu, Nelson shouldn’t be though.

I really don't have a problem with their center depth right now...would be more interested in a scoring winger than a center

sabres were making the playoffs during the bowman years, problem was, so did 15 other teams out of a 20-team league

As long as he can play in the top 9 that’s all that matters to me. A lot of our guys right now can play LW/C/RW as it is.

maybe...but am liking his work at center...numbers are hardly stupendous but his work away from the puck has been pretty solid as he's faced some pretty intense competition...4g, 4a and an even plus/minus rating on a team with at +9 goal differential

have a lot of those-type players...am thinking that development is a no. 1 priority for botts/Housley and co...winning is great, and i'm sure they expected to win (although this win-streak wasn't expected,) but it seems as if they really want to lay a solid foundation and have them play the right way

so many let downs in the playoffs with the bowman teams

low light for me was the north stars series
4th in the nhl for regular season, sweep the nucks in the first rd

down 3 games to nothing to the stars right off the bat

I completely agree about the development part. Olofsson and Nylander shouldn’t see Buffalo till next year and Mitts and Thompson will only get better. But we need another scoring threat in the top 9. Okposo is having a nice bounce back however both him and Sheary are streaky. Pominville will cool off without playing with Eichel. Neither Erod or Sobotka have contributed enough consistently offensively ether to scare opponents although I’ve liked Sobotka on the dot and he’s been good defensively.

yup, that would help...am of the opinion that most scorers are streaky to begin with and that one of the big differences in them is what they are or are not doing during those goal-scoring lulls...play away from the puck has been real good for this group and it's helping the entire team

We are 9-1 in our last 10 but are 30th in the league in corsi for and dangersous scoring chances for. We aren’t getting many scoring chances yet winning. Pretty remarkable

more work to be done, not a bad thing when you win and have yet to scratch the surface on team potential

It's almost December, and no one from Rochester has played a game. I find that astounding.

Not hoping for injuries or anything, but there's a few guys who I think need some games this year. Asplund, Pilut, Olofsson, Smith, and Nylander to start. Even if they aren't factors this year, they either need the experience or we need to find out how they fit here next year.

I've got CF% at 49.2, 20th in the league and HDCF% at 46.79, 24th with a PDO of 1.008, 21st...

buffalo's has a plus-9 goal differential on the season and has won eight of their nine games by a goal...

what does it all say?...the eye test has them getting clutch goaltending and clutch scoring...that's about all I got

We had Perreault who was playing in his 30s and was our best player. There was no one that stepped up at all.
