The other day I said NO way to Kovy, but more i think about it I kinda like it. Could you imagine KOVY on this team, there is your scoring LW. Kings would have to keep some salary and I would not give up too much for him. Maybe a 3rd and a B level prospect...

I don't want a < 100% Bogo on the ice. Play Nelson instead or even better, call up Pilut.

Ive actually gone the other way on Kovy since. Get a load of this quote:

“He is an interesting player,” Desjardins told reporters. “He relies totally on offense. He’s not a huge checker. His game revolves around offense.”

That's his coach admitting that Kovy doesn't play a lick of defense, hence his benching in the 3rd period the other night.

I'd probably still be interested, but i'm not sure anymore. Definitely salary would have to be retained. Plus, he has a full NMC

So he prob checked out once he realized that the kings are not going to be very good. Not a good thing for sure. Your prob right. Don't need that kind of work ethic tainting this group of young players...

I've got CF% at 49.2, 20th in the league and HDCF% at 46.79, 24th with a PDO of 1.008, 21st...


buffalo's has a plus-9 goal differential on the season and has won eight of their nine games by a goal...


what does it all say?...the eye test has them getting clutch goaltending and clutch scoring...that's about all I got

I wouldn't mind, if during the next injury call up, they give 2 or 3 guys a chance. If Bailey is playing well, I'd even give him another shot. There are a slew of options now, but we're still not fully sure what we have down there.

More Zac Dalpes perhaps, but perhaps a few quality guys.

At 35 y/o $6.25m for 2 more years and a full no trade clause until '20-'21 I don't think he would even be in any discussion. If anything, I would look to the Pens with Kessel if you are looking to add a veteran winger. 31 y/o at $6.8m for 3 more years. Botts has a relationship with the Pens and perhaps could work out a deal. Pens struggles may have them looking to shake things up.

One last thing on Kovy and his age is that playing in the KHL the past few years he was only playing 50-60 games as they have a shorter season. He will be 36 in April heading into playoffs having played more games than he has in 5 years.

I really like the thought of kovy and pommer flanking casey for that second line
