Also think they are just trying whatever to see if they can jumpstart Patrick too - J35Bacher
I think to jumpstart him we need to reduce the pressure. To me that means adding a #2 C or another top 6 LW if you want G to be a C |

Than who's the starter?
Is Neuvy healthy (for at least the next 5 minutes) to go on Saturday? - hockeylover
I thought I read somewhere that Elliot might be ready for Saturday, but then again, I've read so much Flyers stuff in the past 4 days, I feel drunk and might have misread. |

Ghost being your best example just shows that you are not very bright. The Provy-Ghost top pairing in 17-18 was the best one the Flyers have had in half a decade, and dominated other teams.
758:15 in ice time at 5on5, 37 GF, 29 GA
Compare that to, oh I don't know, the top pairing from the previous season of Provorov-MacDonald.
823:13 in ice time, 22 GF, 27 GA - Feanor
I’m not very bright and then you go on to use the word “Dominated”. Normally when a defensive pair “dominates”, they stay together a very long time and builds a resume of success. Perfect example Timonen and Coburn. Pronger and Carle. Desjardins and Therrien. Seriously, what world do you live in? A “Doninating” top pair gets you passed the first round of the playoffs. A “dominating” top pair gets you to the top of the division. Get bent, dummy! Provorov and Ghost were put together because they were the two sexy names on the back end, all the while Ghost rare/never saw defensive zone starts and PK time.
Pretty basic stuff. Fast forward to today, they’re not together and Ghost is a team worst -13 and -18 for his career. Ghost is great with the puck and lost without.
It’s called watching the games. Enjoy your mouth full of poop. I’ve been outspoken about Hextall’s And Hakstol’s aproach to the Game for multiple seasons now and me without my right back, I’ve been right all along.
LOL
Responding to Superschenn. I have always thought Ghost is ideally a 3rd pair defenseman who gets top PP time, but sheltered (targeted?) minutes at even strength. - MBFlyerfan
I absolutely agree. Pretty basic stuff. |

I don't dislike the guy, but he's unreliable. It's like anything else in life: Dependability is an aspect of performance.
I get that the guy is talented. He's probably the most talented NHL option they have.
But he is completely unreliable. Elliott's the best NHL option they have, because his performance and availability is far greater than Neuvirth's talent.
I think Stolarz deserves an opportunity to show if he can be a reliable option. We already know Neuvirth isn't, and while he might win some games, he won't be healthy long enough to matter - AllInForFlyers
In that context I agree...but I’d agree more if Stolarz had won the other night. The goaltending is so piss poor that despite being totally unreliable Nuevy will probably get the net. Hopefully he can last until Elliot comes back. Hopefully the new GM comes in and gets that mess cleaned up. |

I think there are facets of his game where he is better but Voracek's one of the top playmakers in the league. - MJL
I think the idea of getting Stone is you take his better facets to offset the plays he won't make that Jake could. By the way some of Jake's biggest issues could be considered bad plays. |

Ok if Ghost is a third pairing d would you consider a trade ....
Ghost
Simmonds
To TO for
Nylander
Gardiner
I think when at his poorest Ghost should be sheltered, but he’s also had some good stretches where he plays pretty good in his own zone.

Stay the hell away from Chuck.
The history with how he handled Minny is just too worrisome.
He may be better here, but he was a piss poor GM in his time there. Could never get over the hump himself, pretty bad drafting, bad coaching hires, quite a bad number trades to go along with utterly being destroyed with the expansion draft.
Please no. |

At first I am tempted to say yes, but Ghost's cap friendly hit with Gardiner walking at the end of the year, and he will, I wouldn't do it.
Probably get better value for Simmonds by himself. |

I just see hockey trade written all over Ottawa right now. Send Voracek, Neuvirth, and a goalie prospect not named Sandstrom or Hart for Anderson and Stone plus a conditional picks if Stone doesn't resign. I would also take Bobby Ryan off thier hands if they eat 4 million of salary. Its a nice upgrade and core deal as long as you get Stone signed.
JVR-Giroux-Stone
Ryan-Couturier-Konecny
Lindblom-Patrick-Simmonds
Raffl-Laughton-Weal/Weise
Provorov-Hagg
AMac/Frolin-Ghost
Gudas-Sanheim
Anderson
Elliot - youarewrong
Anderson is done. He had a bad year last year and looks to be having another horrible year.
Only reason Ottawa is doing "average" is because of their scoring. They are last in goals against. |

Wouldn't give up more than a 5th or 6th for Anderson. |

Zito.
Don't sleep on Stolie. Can't blame him for some of those deflected goals. He looked solid otherwise.
Get me a 1C. Coots is our shutdown center and PK specialist. Replace his offense with a 1C. It's been under our nose this whole time🤓

Oh I agree 100%, Anderson is probably worse than what we have. The pick is just a token when Neuvirth goes down again. |

The Jets aren’t letting trouba go imo. They are all in, and that back end is kind of suspect at times to begin with. Trouba is kind of their 1b dman along with Morrissey.
You might be able to get him but not before the playoffs imo. |
