All regular season last year they were one of thee best pairings in all of the league. That is a fact. - ajw12
Well last season was last season and that’s a fact.
So let me get this right. It’s okay to split Provorov and Ghost, the most dominant defensive pair last season but we cannot split Coots and G, the most dominant first line last season? Explain the logic please. |

If Fletcher would get the job. I don't think it will be a bad thing. He should provide a conservative approach, but not so inflexible as Hextall and hopefully won't trade the farm away. He had the guts to pull off the big trades (Parise-Suter) up against stiff competition. He had a long run with the Wild, meaning he is probably generally liked, and "plays well with others". The Wild did well under him. He may have more ability to make more moves at Philly (Comcast dollars).
If this happens, I wonder if a Zito or Hunter would take an Assistant GM role under Fletcher? Wasn't Pryor basically an Assistant GM... the position is open. - leon neon
Parise and Suter were UFA signings. The Wild also never really came close to being a true Cup contending team. |

Well of course they aren't going to make a major move like firing their GM mid-season and tell everyone "We give up!". I have to go back to the transcript to find out for sure, I guess I could ask MJL because we all know he has a power point presentation with it already, but they said "We will be busy at the TDL". They didn't say "Busy buying everything for twice as much at the TDL". That still doesn't mean they still can't buy things needed this year. - Glak18
Slightly obsessed. Might want to nip that in the bud before it gets too bad. Might need some therapy. I can get you a discount.

Do you think Stone is a better player than Voracek? - MJL
I think they are different players that put up comparable numbers. Stone is a bit younger, and I think Jake is part of a core of players that have been inconsistent across GMs, and coaches.

This is just a guess. I think Scott sees Giroux producing where he is and thinks we may be farther ahead than we really are. Pure speculation.
More so than anything else, I think he started to get annoyed seeing the money not come in as much. Viewership down 20% last season. It was not by chance you saw Gritty, Taryn and more afternoon games than ever (family friendly), imo.
I'll just go back to this. Its a crucial time. I want the Shanahan/Dubas, or Yzerman approach - and not the Wild or Leafs of old - simply chasing the playoffs, but never being good enough to win it all. You need a hell of a lot more than a goaltender and a 3C, and the one thing Hextall was right about - is that you need to find the majority of your pieces through the draft. - flyer_nutter
I don't believe that NHL teams get to decide how many afternoon games they get. |

Voracek is signed for a long time.... Ottawa cant resign anyone and cant really get FAs to look there. |

Maybe Hextall should have traded the 19th overall at the draft for immediate help. |

Because coots and G are still dominant and ghost and provy are both struggling? |

yeah, in hindsight, assuming he knew how the execs felt. He should have done more for this year than signing JVR. |

Couturier, Provorov and Gostisbehere all struggled in October. Hakstol waited for the top line to work itself out. The other lines are still junk. |

I am probably a weirdo but I actually liked when Therien was inbetween the benches. I like when games were chippy and they would say who is chirping who.
I didn't think Therien was bad there. |

Well I really don't see them moving G back to center unless they go out and get another 1/2LW so I don't see the point of continuing to argue this |

God I really don't want Fletcher. Why retread old GMs. - bulet13
Pit fans surely hate their retread GM after two Cups in three years.
How's the fresh perspective doing down in Arizona? Last I checked Max Domi is a PPG player for.... Montreal. |

Another three hour lunch break. The only one with more time on their hands today is Hextall. |
