Love Stone but correct me if I’m wrong, he’s unsigned after this season? He’s going to get a huge next deal, more then what Voracek is currently signed for. - Marc D
Yup. And this may have just been for the purpose of shooting high as RFA with arbitration but it was reported he was asking for 8M+ |

Yeh he could get 9m in a bidding war if he goes UFA |

If they moved Simmonds in a deal for a quality goalie that can be our #1 for the next 2-3 years or a good young center who can play effectively in our top 9 and kills penalties well, I'd be fine with that. I'd expect more coming back though if we are moving Jake. - BiggE
I want Duchene to center G and TK. Coots moves down and gets more PK time. I'm fine with that. Add a strong Dman and get a stop-gap goalie for these next 2 seasons.
I can totally see the scenario where Hart comes up towards the end of this season and holds his own. Speeds up timeline. I've been very impressed with everything he has said and done to prepare for this opporunity (sans the electric bill:-)). Stats will improve. |

I believe it was during Lavy's tenure that whenever our 3rd pair d were out there the Richards line was with them. They were the most responsible forward group on the team and the 3rd pair won't be exposed. I always felt THAT was good coaching. Too many times, the whole 5v5 group is out there for Offense. Ghost with G and/or Jake. I guess that was Murph's fault?
Now Ghost is a little different than whoever that 3rd pair was (Ryan Parent at one point?? IDK) because of his offensive ability. But when we have a lead late, Ghost, TK, Vorachek shouldn't see the ice. - cdearth23
Exactly, Ghost is a top 4 defenseman. Nothing less. He is not the best defensive defenseman, but far from the worst, but obviously shines on the PP and creating offense. He is no better or worse than Letang, Reily or Chabot. |

I don't mind Chuck Fletcher or any of the GM candidates -- at some point, people need the opportunity to reinvent themselves
Minnesota hasn't missed the playoffs since 2011-12. Three of those years, they lost to an in-prime Blackhawks team that won Cups for two of those years
If you make trades, you will win some and lose some
The guy who traded Brent Burns is the same guy who acquired Devan Dubnyk
I just am not scared of who they hire, as long as it isn't an absolute dinosaur like Brian Burke

You’d be ok with him getting 7yrs X 8.5+M?
I think that’s what it would take
Also what if the Sens want Jake + a high pick/good prospect since Stone is the better player? |

Just wanted to say thanks, Bill. That was probably my favorite article of yours. You really are unmatched. - YuenglingJagr
This!! Thank you Bill!!
As for GM, I’d like Zito or Hunter. Fletcher didn’t set the world on fire in Minny. Very average. I also question his drafting ability. I like Hunter a lot, aside from his douchebag brother Dale. Zito is very respected by his peers, and from what I’ve seen has a fairly good eye for seeing talent. |

Smith's been bad, Quick's injury-prone, Anderson's ancient
Would rather they look a little deeper at a guy like Aaron Dell, but no telling if he's available |

Everything depends.
The Sens could like the deal because they have someone signed long term to build around.
I think Voracek to Edmonton makes a lot of sense. Both teams could use a roster shuffle. I keep thinking of a deal like this in my head.
Main pieces:
To Edmonton: Voracek
To Philadelphia: Nugent-Hopkins and Puljujarvi
Secondary Pieces:
To Edmonton: some mix of Gudas, 2nd or 3rd rounder type pick, Vorobyev or Similar player
To Philadelphia: Khaira or bottom 6 player, maybe brings size and edge in his game
I hope it makes sense how i laid it out. |

I think we get too hung up on 1st, 2nd, 3rd pair.
To me its more about minutes played. Ghost on the "3rd" pair, getting sent out on offensive draws, more offensive situations and getting big PP minutes will always get big minutes regardless of his label.
That is all I am trying to say. |

Not disagreeing and I don’t watch Stone all too often, but what else is he better at other than defense? Is Stone on the Sens PK? Their yearly goal totals are close but Jake has the advantage in assists/playmaking. |

Canes are putting Darling on waivers.
2 more years left at 4.125.
He's been bad but would you swap Neuvirth for Darling.
At least we get a goalie who seems to be healthy and did play well in Chicago.
Canes get cheaper one year back up. |

In 2006-2007 They Flyers attendance was recorded at 98.9% of capacity.
This season through 13 games they are at 97.9%
Is this team that much worse than the 06-07 Flyers? - corduroy
They count season tickets as attended wether they are used or not. Less season ticket holders? |

Chiarelli gets fired for that -- he's already getting fired, but he can't give up two younger, cost-controlled assets for a 2007 draftee

Really don’t know much about Khaira; what kind of player is he / what does he provide for a team, or more specifically our team? |

Yeah but you get that winger you've been hoping to find to play with Draisiatl.
They lost Benning for a while so could use defenseman.

Khaira plays a Simmonds type game. Might not have as much offense but he is 6'4" and solid skater. He would be an instant fan favorite and would fill any grit or toughness if you moved Simmonds.

If the Flyers are trading Jake and Gudas and a 2nd rd pick to EDM I hope they are getting Draisaitl back |
