Yes, I was personally pretty upset with the idea of him sitting in the press box. That would have been bad for Lindblom and for the team. The 4th line is definitely the better option. The way I see it the coach sees something in his game he wants removed/improved/added. This way when he does better at whatever it is, he gets promoted. It really hasn’t been that many games with him on the 4th line. He will get it. - NC Flyers Fan
I think it was more about liking what Weise was bringing than being unhappy with Lindblom.

People like saying "this guy is bad and that guy is bad"
You know what. Steve Mason was bad before he got to the Flyers. - J35Bacher
True....but that’s a lot of coin for a guy that really struggled....now if Carolina eats a couple million a year ....that might be more palatable.

Great write-up Bill! Your and Jay's articles really shed some light on the behind-the-scenes workings of Hextall's regime.
To me, it brings home the point that you can't do everything your way without input from others and succeed unless you're very lucky. You need friends that will back you up when things don't go according to plan and it doesn't take much to make/have those friends.
I wonder if Hextall tried to be like Lou Lamoriello and just ran into some bad luck, or if he didn't have the required control of being President and GM to see his vision through without outside buy-in. |

I do. He’s a much more complete player. - BiggE
I think there are facets of his game where he is better but Voracek's one of the top playmakers in the league.

Ridiculous if he gets another start for the Flyers, to me -- I understand why they might play him because they're trying to win and he can be effective, but for me, he'd be done - AllInForFlyers
Why ? If he’s your best option, I guess what choice do you have ? What did he do wrong ? He’s injury prone.

Being a GM is easy...
I was offered Jimmy Howard and NYI 2nd for Rubstov. I like it.
Update: I took the deal

If they do tab Fletcher I wonder if he would have insight into Schnieder and if he would be an option?

I don't dislike the guy, but he's unreliable. It's like anything else in life: Dependability is an aspect of performance.
I get that the guy is talented. He's probably the most talented NHL option they have.
But he is completely unreliable. Elliott's the best NHL option they have, because his performance and availability is far greater than Neuvirth's talent.
I think Stolarz deserves an opportunity to show if he can be a reliable option. We already know Neuvirth isn't, and while he might win some games, he won't be healthy long enough to matter

Lindblom-Laughton-Raffl is a pretty good line actually. They're pretty good with Weise as well. Not sure how effective the 2nd line is with either of them at the moment. Could try JVR there but line juggling is not something Hakstol has done much of to this point. |

With fletcher getting his interview today I think the Flyers went right after there first choice. Maybe those two can blow them away in interviews |

I wouldn't be pissed if they hired Fletcher but I would be furious if they hired him today without interviewing anyone else. |

You’d be ok with him getting 7yrs X 8.5+M?
I think that’s what it would take
Also what if the Sens want Jake + a high pick/good prospect since Stone is the better player? - Marc D
Yea I’m fine with that deal. I’m not giving more the. Jake and a 3rd. That ought to be enough the guy is a ufa |
