Why would the Kings trade a franchise goalie? They are competitive with him and NOT without him.
What's the price for Quick as one would assume it would be high. Does it include Carter Hart? If I were Blake, that would be a starter. I don't think an unsigned Wade Simmonds gets it done.
If you want to make it more into a blockbuster how about adding someone like Muzzin in there for say Sanheim? Younger D. Cap relief for the Kings.
I wonder if Simmonds would help get Kovulchuk (sp) in a deal in that K has 2 more years on his deal. The Flyers used to always do this in the old days.
The other two goalies out there aren't nearly as tempting.
The Flyers should be willing to part with picks and prospects at this point to get a franchise goalie. How does Jimmy Butler look on the Sixers? You wouldn't trade Fultz at this point for Korver? Sure you would (sorry, I am a little off the hockey reservation here as everyone is bat-sh*t crazy in LA because its actually RAINING. |

So, to paraphrase..
Leafs will re-sign Nylander
Mike Smith will stay in Calgary
Jonathan Quick will stay in L.A
Craig Anderson will stay in Ottawa.
Thanks, Ek. |

Cal Pedersen has pulled a Martin Jones and proved that he's NHL ready and a much cheaper option. Quick can get the most value in return out of all of the huge contracts. |

I agree on Anderson, he is such a character player...Mike Smith and Quick would be improvements but both have longer contracts that worry me unless Homer feels we are at the "Any Port in a storm" scenario.
As for Nylander, am I the only person who thinks that this negotiation has tainted his value? Who wants to bring the headache of this kind of a negotiation into the franchise? It is worse than Carl Lindros. At least Carl understood that to get top five money you will be expected to be a top five (in the league) player...I am just leery any player/agent that things can get this far down the path. |

Quick is a great goalie. However, he is 32, injury prone and signed until he is 36. Doesn't seem like the guy the Flyers should be targeting. Smith or Andersson would be good options as the contracts are shorter. Also, Smith and Anderson would be more a bridge to Hart. That assumes Hart will be ready in 1-2 years. |

Would the Flyers want Crawford from the Hawks ? What would they give ? |

It's Markstrom with Biega to Philly for Gudas. Take it to the bank. |
|
|

Mike Smith and Craig Anderson aren't necessarily better options, and Quick is coming off of an injury and who knows if he will be the same. The only one of these options that area definitive upgrade is Quick. The problem really could be the injury and the $7 mil price tag when there are other issues besides goalie. |

TEAMS do not need permission to talk to nylander he's An RFA. anyone can. No one is going near him though with regards to this . The leagues GM's need the leafs to hold fast otherwise the floodgates will open with regards to the 20 or something elite RFA's that are coming due this coming year. |

Does anyone, PLEASE!, want Allen, Anderson, and our GM Armstrong. I would be happy with a lump of coal in return at this point. |
