Yeah, that worked out just (frank)ing great.
We drafted Anderson... but he wouldn't sign, because he didn't think there was any opportunity to play with Ward there at the time. - BINGO!
My (somewhat) sincere condolences. |

The leafs have to trade Nylander next summer, no matter what. They cant afford to keep him. They will have 30 million in cap space to sign marner, matthews, kapenen, Nylander, and many others. Right now they 6 fowards and 4 dman signed next year.
Matthews will cost 12.5 mil and marner will cost 10 mil. that leaves 7.5 million to sign 4 fowards and 2 dman. Even if you trade Marleau you still cant afford Nylander. |

Actually, and this is perhaps more interesting to you guys,
no team has allowed more unblocked shot attempts against than the Maple Leafs. |

Fortunately the Leafs are aware of other options, like putting Horton on IR. But I'm sure you've thought of all options unlike Leafs management. |

No need for guys to get hurt when you have a goalie who can....you know...make saves. |

Why does mike think Nylander is worth such a high price tag. Ghost scored more then Nylander last year. Also, this is killing is reputation. Perfect example is Evander kane. Yes he was a UFA but we got pennies on the dollar because of his reputation. The same will happen with him. Everyone knows you cant afford him and dont want him after this. Why will they overpay. |

Maybe they part the shooting lanes so the goalie can see and make the save, leading to the 3rd least GAA?
That would be something. |

Whoooosh, transport yourself back to July 2018, Tavares has just signed an 11 million AVV contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs. You get off the Golf Course in glee as you think of the coming season, but then your friend says "How are they going to afford all of these players?". The fact dawns on you that it will be a tall order for management to get everyone signed at team friendly contracts. Nevertheless, you put your faith in Dubas and let the hockey people do the thinking on your behalf. You get in your car and think to yourself, "My friend had an interesting point, though it would probably get pretty annoying if he brought it up every day for the rest of his miserable lifetime". |

Interestingly everyone's favourite for the Cup, Tampa Bay have such a leaky defence, that people don't even mention it. They're not going far with that AHL defence they've got |

Certainly possible. I don't know much about what Babcock is asking guys to do defensively. I just find it interesting that the Leafs give up as many attempts against as they get. You'd think with so much firepower that it would be heavily slanted in the "for" category. |

they can put Hortons 5.3MM on LTIR. Add whatever the cap goes up, 2-3MM and all of a sudden thats an added 8MM in cap space.
They should be able to figure this out. |

Even if you trade him and marleau. You still cant afford him. Look at the cap. IF you do keep him you will have zero money to improve defense.
7.5 mil in cap after matthews and marner. then trade Horton and Marleau you will have 19 million. you sign kapanen to 2 years @ 3 mil and Nylander 3 years @ 7. you will have 10 million for 4 forwards, goalie and 2 dman. That is having Holl be your six dman.
If you magically sign all 7 players to 1 mil each you will have 3 million of room for extra forward.
PLEASE DO SIMPLE MATH YOU CANT AFFORD HIM AND YOU WILL NEED TO GIVE UP GOOD ASSETS TO GET RID OF DUMB CONTRACTS> |

From an eye test standpoint, the Leafs produce a lot off the rush and less off the cycle. They also produce a ton on the PP, and usually get a goal before they have a chance to get a ton of shots on goal. |

Tied for 17th, but yeah.
Because we can't (frank)ing score and don't have a starting goaltender. If our D wasn't so (frank)ing stacked and good at getting the puck back we'd be dead last.
If you go by points percentage, they're 12th. |

That was my thought. They've got so much talent up front that they're able to finish chances more efficiently than the average team, which cuts down on their possession time. |

You are so dumb. Nylander will cost you around 7 mil. You are going to sign 4 fowards 3 dman and goalie for 8.5 million. One of them is kapy. Good Luck |

Its funny how people know the numbers of the Matthews and Marner contracts.
They just throw out high end numbers like 12.5 million and 10 million like its a fact...but really they have no (frank)ing clue.
Dubas and his cap workers, who he pays millions of dollars to do btw are the ones who know. Not some random dude on HB that claims they cant afford the players they have. |
