No, he didn't. You can't drive into the back of another car and then claim ignorance - you're responsible for that.
The puck was gone long. If he's truly incapable of avoiding him with that much time, then that's just another reason that he doesn't belong in the NHL. - lumlums
Well if a dirty limey Chemist who has never played the sport can see this....then it should be obvious to the rest of the interwebs. |

Checking from behind, interference, charging... illegal for a lot of different reasons. Most players, no reason for DoPS to get involved for the same hit. But Wilson knows he has lost all benefit of the doubt and the standard is different for him. Did this anyways. If they let this go, the next time he takes someone's head off, fans of that player/team will point to this and say "the evidence he hadn't gotten the message was there and the NHL ignored it." And they'll be right. |

Wilson is not a favorite of mine, that's for sure, thought his hit on Aston Reese last year was total garbage...but this? I honestly don't think it's worthy of a match penalty or suspension. |

What's weird (and I guess a good thing if -any- positive spin can be put on it...) is he's never gone full retard with a hit on a star, it's always some fringe NHL player. Not that I'm trying to condone his actions, but just thankful it's never been on a McDavid or something. |

Not connected.
Sucks they are out.
I feel for you there.
That in NO way makes Wilson’s actions OK.
Your comments are asinine. - Dr. Leaf

When you're a lowly cheap shot artist, you get no benefit of the doubt ! In no way was this severe enough to warrant that penalty, or suspension, but when you have his history of dirty play, this is what you deserve because of that history |

My thoughts exactly when the likes of Alan May try to defend (yet another) stupid, avoidable, suspendable hit by “Willie.” |

It's never his fault, they're always out to get him.
In this instance, he didn't leap into the guy's head. But he had ample time to not "accidentally" skate into a player whose back was turned, and chose not to do so.
Also, Erik Johnson needs a mini vacation for his hit on Steen last night. |

Except for knocking out one of Columbus' best forwards in last years playoffs with a blindside headshot.

as expected the courageous coach goes into full hear, see, and do no evil with HIS GUY and brings up the the WHAT ABOUT THIS assertions...
we don't here anything about Wilson's previous history and how he needs to avoid this stuff at all costs...its poor TOM and us we are the victims here.
I can certainly see the case for no supplemental discipline; however Wilson is felon on ice who has gotten way with alot of cheap accidental on purpose hits almost as many as he has been suspended for. He is a predator and you can see in the video he was lining up seney from 50 feet away. |

Wilson is garbage and has no place in a league that values safety and decency. Anyone defending this known-predator is just as bad.

If you don't believe it was intentional then you are being willfully dull. Their is no other conclusion to be drawn when their is such overwhelming weight of evidence. If you defend Tom Wilson, your brain isn't functioning. The NHL is a joke and Rierdan is either a pathetic coward or a complete moron. |
