Goal from Crosby, gift goal from the fourth line. Yet again waiting on the middle guys. Malkin, kessel, brassard, spotlights on you |

Yeah.... It's not pretty for those guys. Malkin is going through one of those stretches where everything he does is extremely imprecise. Kessel... I don't know what's wrong with him.....just not the same jump he had in the first month of the season. If those two got going this team would be hard to beat. |

Exactly. As it stands it’s sinking the team. |

The inability of this team to even get off a shot attempt in these odd man rushes is gonna cost them |

Kessel has been sulking since being taken off Malkin 's line and Malkin looks like he's doing the same.

Dirty hit by Gudas after the period. Pens don't need to bother looking for a p.p. to result. |

Interesting comment by Weekes saying Murray is a future Hall of Famer. Is Murray a lock simply because he won two cups as a rookie? |

They don't like being split up.
I never saw a guy who just assisted on the game winning goal (in Winnipeg) look as disgusted as Kessel did. It's as if he wanted his new line to fail so he could get back with Geno, and was pissed when it succeeded.

Those two went cold before Sully split them up and they were really sloppy defensively too. That gave Sullivan the excuse to split them up. Now they continue to play that way on different lines. |

Having Horn back the lines should look like this IMO...
Jake-Sid-Simon/Horn
Pearson-Geno-Phil
Rust-Brass-Simon/Horn
ZAR-Sheahan-Grant

Doesn't make sense, Kessel's time in Pittsburgh has been away from Malkin other than the PP.
Didn't he play with Brassard last year and Bonino the previous? |

Those are exactly the lines I'd use since Sprong isn't in the conversation. Hornie would be on the 1st line over Simon IMO.
If Phil and Geno are truly moping, I hate like hell giving them what they want. Great players should be all about winning. Sullivan is going nowhere and rightfully so. Suck it up and make the best of it. Act like a veteran professional. |

Phil and Geno always go through ruts, as does Sid. They just stand out more when the Pens aren't in a great situation.
As far as Horny and Simon? I'd really just toggle them depending on how they're playing. |

Agree with all of this. Although as much as I’d hate to do it, I’d put them back together. This isn’t working as stands. This has 4 2 loss all over it if they don’t pull it together quickly.

Sure... All players go through ruts. Unfortunately they can't afford it this season.
Good gawd.... This team can't play defense or make a big save. |

The goal stinks but they do happen. The absolute pathetic attempt leading up to it is more the root cause of all of that vomit inducing suck |
