skinner is better because of jack and sam
jack is better because of skinner and sam
sam is better because of jack and skinner

I question you and sabres89 you guys were acting like Jack didn't do Jack all game. I was drunk sh!+ happens.
this team is a bottom 5 team in the nhl w/o that line, and very lucky to be where they are in the standings

Scandella has to be moved with how well Pilut is playing right ? I remember when I said Scandella should have one foot out the door once that lottery ball came up in buffalos favour and everyone here ate me alive. I should really start bookmarking things. - Pegullaville
He’s terrible but supposedly well liked in the locker room.
Like I said. This is on Botterill. He has to make the tough decisions in order to move this team forward. Nelson, Pilut and dare I say Beaulieu (I was never a fan of but had a very good game last night) would be much better options. |

Bowl-U had his best game as a Sabres last night. And Pilut surprised me with his defensive play last night. Things are looking up! |

I don't mind THIS years bowl-u. Last years bowl-u..Poopity for sure. Funny how adding one more extremely competent D-man make the rest of the D-corp that much better. |

Now that there aren’t as many ppl here to flip out when i say this...
We’d be a legit threat if we hadn’t made the O’Reilly trade
I warned ppl that Mittelstadt might not be a stud right away
He’s a guy we were counting on to score
Same with the guys we brought in for ROR
None of them are netting expectations
Each has had a few good games,
but we need more from them - jdfitz77
Fitz, you have been pretty on with the Mitts prediction this season. I was clearly expecting more production.
But, ROR was not a good fit. He needed to go. Bad fit for this team. Sabres are better with out the drama.
There's something damaged about his personality. Check out where st louis is in the standings.

at the beginning of the year I did not think this team was ready to take on a higher priced 30-something player, but now I am convinced that is exactly what we should do.
How do we get our hands on PK-88? Kessel? - hehateme
I have been on teh Kessel train for years now.
All the dude does is score.

Trade deadline moves, IMO. Move all these players for picks/Prospects
Berglund (Retain 850K) 3MM salary for a 3rd line player
Sobodka (Retain 550K) 3MM salary for a 3rd/4th liner player
Scandella (Still holds value around league IMO) not a pure rental
Larsson
I'm not expecting anything overly significant but 2- 6th rd picks. - ImThatGuy
So: why again would any other team want to give up anything for any of these players?
You want to trade these guys for a reason- THEY SUCK.
But, so other nhl GM is gonna see something in then?
We had to take them as part of the Ror trade. They are unwanted, unless we give something to get rid of them.

I think his confidence was shot. Plus, playing with better players forces you to play better.
This group is very accountable to each other and that’s huge. That’s not easy to build on a young team. |

They were both salary dumps. We will have to package them with 1st rounders if we want to dump their salary too just like the blues did.
We could package both with a first and a 3rd for a 25 goal guy |

Does anyone think ROR would be having success like he is this year If he was still a Sabre?
He seems to have always shined on failing teams eh? |

Totally agree.
That guy doesn't like them, but thinks some other GM magically is gonna want them?
They have negative value.

We'd be fortunate as fans to move one of those players. But they were traded for because they offer depth, like it or not. And Botts is not going to part with depth unless suitable depth is shown on the farm. And on top of that, I bet teams are begging for underperforming players. |

Berglund is a value to team, vet presence, 3rd line checking forward that.
Still holds respect around the league.
I think you just hate to hate on these guys, but they still have value.
Scandella is a vet presence on the backend, tad overpaid, but has value.
Again, I am not asking/Expecting for first round picks, which by the way Ryan Reeves was traded for.
a team that needs "Checking bodies" at the deadline could have interest, especially if Buffalo Holds Salary. |

I agree with this on Svbotka not Bergs. If we were to keep one for depth then Svbotka for sure |

They don't, players like Berglund, Sobodka, Scandella are constantly traded, at every deadline. |

Deep teams who plan on making a run at the cup for sure. It’s a long, grueling path to the cup and those teams need the depth for sure. I can name 10 team in the last 10 years who lost the cup because they had to injury protection ie depth |
