If the blues pick is say at 9 or 10 but they get pushed out due to lottery results and land at 11 or 12 would they be able to defer the pick.
Or do they go by final standings after the lottery?

I’d assume we get the pick. Cause if they won the lottery in the 11-15 range I’d assume they’d keep the pick

Totally agree. I just dont think trading away our first rounders is the way to go. A while ago, I look at (of course after the fact) at who we could have taken instead of the Kane, ROR, Lehner trade and they all out produced Kane, ROR and Lehner as rookies. And you would have had them for many more years. So trading away the picks is not really the answer, IMO.

Lehner trade - Pick 21, Boeser was pick 23
Kane trade - Pick 25, Sebastian Aho pick 35
ROR trade - Pick 31, Sebastian Aho pick 35 or Brandon Carlo pick 37

not to mention in the ROR and Kane trade we traded a bunch of pieces that we still could have traded, but ended up with solid players. The point here is trading the pick is not always the best thing to do.

Hindsight is 20/20. Arvidsson was what? 130 something? They easily could've done those moves and drafted him, but they didn't. They did draft Olofsson in the 7th(2014, but still) and he's looking like he could be a solid NHLer. Looking in the past and saying "we coulda had _____" is just wasting time. The moves didn't work, fix it and move on.

Yea I was really pumping Mitts tires this offseason and it just hadn’t materailized yet. Maybe next year is the year he establishes himself as a legit 2C. We need a veteran stop gap for the playoff run or we don’t stand a chance.
- Pegullaville

Everyone knows Mitts is a kid less than 2yrs removed from playing in high school. He's too good for Rochester, and I think we don't notice as much the fact that his line draws some pretty tough defensive assignments against the other teams top lines. They spend a lot of time defending, and I think he's done a pretty admirable job in that area. Everyone agrees there's more work for Bott's to do, that win streak and their entertaining play have us all excited. I'd like to see Bott's speed it up a tad, but it's just not how he does things

imagion that, Toronto is playing ANOTHER backup Goalie..... Hmmmmm

The Toronto fan aren't going to like this but Im not impressed with Toronto at all...
Consistantly getting out shot is not a good recipe once the playoffs roll around.
Our defense is so much better than there is.... they need to fix that if they have any hope in the playoffs.

Chiefs sign WR Kelvin Benjamin.

It's a one-year contract, so Benjamin will be a free agent after the playoffs, but this is one of the best landing spots for Benjamin, who was waived by the Bills two days ago. Benjamin could see significant snaps in the playoffs as the Chiefs No. 3 receiver behind Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins, if Benjamin is able to pick up the offense quickly. Benjamin's signing is bad news for Chris Conley, but Benjamin is only worth a pickup in deep leagues as a bench stash.

I've thought the last couple games Mitts has looked much faster.... I noticed it a couple time during the Toronto game as well. Mitts is going to be fine, revisit this in 20 more games... I have a feeling we might feel different than we do now.

I agree. I have no problem at all with Mitts. No, he's not the #2C we need yet, but he definitely will be when he develops. It's tough on him to kind of get thrown into the fire a bit, but management clearly believes he can handle it, and see it as the best way forward for him. Much like they did with Thompson

So games like the leafs vs. red wings and bruins vs. lightning do we want the leafs and lighting to win because they are in a playoff spot now and it would keep the bruins and red wings from catching up to us. Or the other way around with the thought we can pass the leafs and lightning?

I want:

the good teams that are going to make the playoffs to win in regulation.

Toronto
Tampa
Boston
Pittsburgh
Washington

Although the Bruins could fall out.

Personally I'm not worried about finishing in first.
Just make the show....

Two talented players put on the same line don't always work, don't mean one isn't talented, just means they don't work well together for some reason.

Would i like to see more from Okposo? Absolutely, but I don't know that it's because he's "not good enough."

$600m/30 = $20m
Not chump change...but it does pay for 2 seasons worth of their $10m Operating Losses.
