Glad sobotka was out there in ot for his defensive acumen to not let Matthews get that shot off.......... - TheHank
Did you see Connor brown, Johnsson, Gauthier, or any Leaf bottom 6 player out there the entire OT ? Take that up with Housley. Id still rather Sobotka in a 4th line role then Larsson or Girgensons.

There's no such thing as an even playing field now though. Players (generally) would probably rather play in a warm city than a cold one, original 6 teams have more perceived prestige, Florida has no income tax, etc., etc. There are already variables, and some teams have more in their favor than others, is what I'm trying to say. It's already a "some animals are more equal than others" situation to quote Orwell. Introducing one more variable isn't going to topple the tower - jcragcrumple
William Nylander had 32pts (37 games) and 45pts (38 Games) points his last two seasons in the AHL
First 22 game in NHL he had 13 points
First full season in NHL. 61pts 81 games 22 goals
Last year. 61pts 82 games. 20 goals
Nylander makes 10.2 mil this year
Sam make 3.6 mil. 47pts 17 goals and last year 50pts 23 goals...
same goal totals 42 and 42. Sam is 6.6 cheaper.
Hmmmmmmmmm...
Just for fun
last two years AHL William plays on one of best teams in AHL, Alex one of the worst until this year.
William. 32pts in 37 games. 45pts in 38 games,
Alex 27pts in 51 games. current pace is 53pts in 65 games.
Alex has outscored (point wise) William in their International careers
William has played in 23 games 15 goals 21 assists 36 points. 1.56 pts per game
Alex has played in 32 games. 14 goals. 27 assists. 41 points. 1.28 pts per game.
I was expecting to see a much bigger difference in numbers.... in Juniors they are very close... if Alex stays on current pace AHL will be close as well.
Alex might very well end up a bust, BUT maybe he won't was just surprised at the numbers.
