I would rather give up Frost than Farabee, but would rather give up neither unless it was for a monster superstar - Glak18
I think Simmonds would block a trade to the Sens. Dont want to lose Frost. |

NO WAY for Marleau - Glak18
I wouldnt either but if you are trading to the Leafs that is close to what you will get. Simmonds wont be resigned but the Leafs would like to move Marleau. The second turns into a first if the Leafs make SCF
Again in my other post, I said trade him out west |

Flyers will get nowhere near his true value if they trade him to the Leafs.

Marleau and a conditional 2nd for Simmonds - wcorvette
How about Kapenan. They won't be able to resign him anyway unless they create a bigger hole and let Gardiner walk. Might have to throw in a pick. |

There is no question in my mind that Farabee is just as valuable than Frost, I know Frost gets talked about more, but don't sleep on Joelbee because he didn't sign his ELC yet.

Well then not playing him is certainly going to help him play better. Benching him for not having experience is the quickest way to get him experience. - Shrike
I have no idea what you are about. Sanheim is being sheltered. This has been a good thing. Despite all of the crazy team defensive issues, Sanheim is steadily developing and gaining confidence.

I'm not trading anyone for Marleau unless they really want MacDonald. |

The problem with Marleau in a trade, he has to promise to retire after this year. Otherwise trading anything would be pointless. |

I’d be shocked if anyone who could didn’t block a trade to Ottawa. Hell, even Ottawa natives probably don’t want to play for Melnyk. |

I wouldnt target him, I was just responding off the post which suggested to trade Simmer to the Leafs. That is the best you can hope to get back from the leafs, since they would not sign Simmer after the season. |

Safe bet to rule out Ottawa or Toronto as trade partners for Simmonds.

It depends on what you think they're doing. I think signing Nylander to just shy of 7 shows that they are pushing in for this season. Dubas already said he's looking to spend his cap money to upgrade for this season.
Assuming they won't be able to sign Kapanen this off season they'll want to get something for him. A second round pick and Simmonds upgrades the position going into the playoffs, they may even consider taking on Gudas to firm up the back end.
If you can pull back with Kapanen from the deal the Flyers come out ahead and the Leafs take their best shot at winning a cup before they go into what's bound to be an insane summer for them. |

benching him for playing better than half our defensemen gives him confidence? And people wonder why analytics(which I don’t care for) is pushing out traditional methods in coaching. |

I like Kapanen but I don't think that is full value for Simmonds but I think it full value for the Leafs, since they know they wont resign Simmonds. |

I am not suggesting the trade, in fact I said I would not. What I suggested is the kind of return I believe the Leafs would give for Simmer. I want Simmer traded out west |

I don’t think Simmonds will be as easy to sign as you think. First off, both he and his agent know that he has been grossly underpaid the last 3-4 seasons and that this also his last chance at a big money deal. He may give the Flyers a small home team discount, but at the very least his agent is looking for 5 years at 35 million or 6 years 38-39, and some GM is going to make that deal or very close to it. Plus he already has a limited NTC, and he’ll want the same if not more in his next deal.
It doesn’t mean he’s not a great guy, but it’s just the reality of how the business works. - BiggE
Is all of this fact or speculation? |
