Just a quick timeline of the recent outcomes from horrendous officiating:

- Hamonic elbowed and nose broken by Kunitz (no suspension)
- Giordano knee (suspension)
- Backlund blantantly tripped on an empty net which should be automatic goal (no penalty)
- Dumba headshots Backlund (no suspension, let alone a FKN penalty!!!)
- Lomberg jumps Dumba (suspension)

I understand the flames suspensions but I do not in any universe understand the lack of calls/suspensions when the flames are the target. You want to send Gio out for knee then you best fkn send Dumba out for a headshot or MAKE A FREAKING CALL ON AN EMPTY NET PLAY!!!!

Tkachuk has done the same before so I hope you call him a coward too.

Anyway, the Flames are getting slept on, I don't think a lot of people outside of Calgary realize how well they're playing so far this season. If they get solid goaltending all year and Neal gets going then they'll be a problem in the West for NSH/WPG

- Nucker101

If you’re talking about the Kassian incident those are two totally different situations.

I said it earlier an I’ll repeat it.....if they get solid goaltending I see a conference finals appearance

Doesn't he have a history of going after Draisaitl? Kassian was trying to get him to answer for that.

I don't blame either Dumba or Tkachuk for not fighting, the player should only have to fight if it was a clearly dirty hit.

Gonna have to knock off one of the favs though. I don't think they matchup well vs the Jets, but I could see them giving Nashville trouble.

Dumba's hit was disrespectful and unnecessary but completely legal. If they want to get rid of those hits, they need a rule like the defenceless receiver rule in football.
- Hunkulese

Leaving your feet is not legal but I don't think its a hit that deserves a suspension. Accountable, yes but not suspendable (yes I know thats not a word).

They will have to get past the pacific in the playoffs and maybe a WC central team depending on where they finish.....I can see a path to the conference finals....from there tho who knows....like you said it depends on the match up

That’s my issue....the hit was thrown so obviously he was going to have to answer for it but nope he didn’t answer the call and now you lose 2 players out if it.....wtf was it that Paros did for a living in hockey? Oh right holding guys on the other team accountable for such actions.....I get the game has changed but you cant just let guys run around and do that....THATS how people are really going to get hurt....oh wait Backlund already is

If you’re talking about last game they played, the back and forth between Tkachuk and Draisaitl started because Draisaitl slew footed him early in the first period. Draisaitl wouldn’t answer for it when Tkachuk came back from the quiet room so they hounded each other all night.
Players like doughty can fight, and Tkachuk responded even when LA sent a meat pounder after him, or maybe you’re talking about the players who would shake their gloves for a fight but wouldn’t drop the gloves for him.

I don't love the Gio suspension but I get why it happened. He doesn't have a history so I thought it might onlyy be a fine, but 2 games is far from egregious. The Lomberg suspension is fine but honestly what else are the Flames supposed to do when one of their players hits one of ours high and there's no call on the ice?

I hate bringing this up but it's starting to feel like the Wideman effect again in some of these games. Kunitz elbows Hamonic and breaks his nose, no supplementary discipline. Dumba hits Backlund high and now Backlund's out with a concussion, no supplementary discipline (or call on the play). Guy trips Backlund earlier on an empty net which should have been called and an automatic goal awarded and the Dumba hit would never have even happened in the first place, no call.

I don't agree fully with either suspension we got but I can live with them and understand why they were handed out. What I can't live with is we now have a player out with concussion from the same game on a hit that never should have happened in the first place, which would also completely get rid of one of the suspensions. Not to mention Kunitz literally breaking Hamonic's nose with an elbow and not getting anything.

DOPS is wildly inconsistent and look like they have no idea what they are doing sometimes, and it is incredibly frustrating.

Not really his first time. I remember a game against Anaheim a couple years ago where Gio hit Fowlers knee.

Tough pill to swollow with Backs out with a concussion. Would be nice to have Vilimaki back.

I remember that play but that didn't look intentional at all to me and he didn't receive any supplementary discipline for it. This one looked much more intentional but Gio has never been suspended before afaik.

Regardless, I can live with two games even if it is kind of a joke.

EDIT: oh and Lomberg's been suspended for an extra game for jumping Dumba now. Remember when Kassian jumped Tkachuk and didn't get suspended for it?

What a joke.
