Why is a star defenseman going to fight and get taken out for 5 minutes? That’s literally the job for guys like Clifford and Andreoff when he was on the Kings, to stand up for their star players. I still find this hilarious that people don’t get that.

And what meat pounder are you talking about? Are you talking about when Tkachuk tried to jump Muzzin and got a penalty? Or when he backed down and turtled to the smaller Andreoff twice? Or when he fought McNabb? Because McNabb isn’t even close to a meat pounder.

Just a quick timeline of the recent outcomes from horrendous officiating:

- Hamonic elbowed and nose broken by Kunitz (no suspension)
- Giordano knee (suspension)
- Backlund blantantly tripped on an empty net which should be automatic goal (no penalty)
- Dumba headshots Backlund (no suspension, let alone a FKN penalty!!!)
- Lomberg jumps Dumba (suspension)

I understand the flames suspensions but I do not in any universe understand the lack of calls/suspensions when the flames are the target. You want to send Gio out for knee then you best fkn send Dumba out for a headshot or MAKE A FREAKING CALL ON AN EMPTY NET PLAY!!!!

Leaving your feet is not legal but I don't think its a hit that deserves a suspension. Accountable, yes but not suspendable (yes I know thats not a word).

That's just physics and how you're taught to hit. You see it on most big hits. What's illegal is when you launch yourself before the hit like a missile. Dumba didn't break any rule that's currently in the rule book, but he did break the "code".

It's Jim Peplinski BTW. Guadreau is a guy you can win with, he is a difference maker look at the last game where he created space and got the puck to Lindholm for two goals.
