Might as well put Neuvy back in and give Stolie a rest. They aren't coming back from this. |

So the new GM is going to trade draft picks and prospects to try and get this squad into the playoffs?
Today’s game is what the playoffs would look like if they make it. This is men against boys.
They should be sellers now. |

To a point I agree. I think they need to sell the pieces they don't feel fit the team in the future, but not a complete rebuild. |

Laughton’s line with Raffl is at least working their butts off today. No finish but they are playing the right way.
Stollie started the year so far down the depth chart and is now working his way towards a regular nhl spot.
That’s all the positives I have today. |

Get the most you can for the UFAs if you can move them
UFA
Lehtera
Simmonds
Raffl
Weal
Folin
Look into trading the following if you can get a decent return
Voracek
JvR
Elliott
Gudas
Just leave him at a shopping mall
Neurvirth

I would like to see JvR on that line with Laughton and Raffl. A couple guys that can cover up his defensive liabilities while giving them someone who could score.
Then move Lindblom to the top line with Giroux for some defensive help. Then move Weise with Lehtera and Varone |

With the new marching orders I also consider trading this years 1 pick and maybe some of the prospects or young roster players. That's the only way you can fix this fast.

No way in hell you trade this years #1. You don’t move a lottery pick for a quick fix. |

What are we going to give them? Jets are trying to contend. No reason for them to sell. |

That doesn't guarantee a quick fix unless that magic trade is for a superstar. Rather take a chance getting Hughes and getting their first superstar since Lindros to build around. |

You can always trade the pick with lotto protections. |

Yes, yes you can....but lose a lot of value by doing so. |

Well you're getting to keep the pick if it's a lotto pick. That's the trade off. |

Even then it would take an awful lot to get me to part with that pick. The smarter move would be to get a 1st back from a playoff team in a Simmonds deal and use that pick in a draft day deal for immediate help.
Edit: there is no magic move that is going to save this season. |

Yes, but my point is you're not using that pick on someone really good unless you add to that pick.
You are not getting someone like Stone with a protected 1st. |
