Except for a few songs, don't care if I never hear the Beatles ever again. We put Sgt. Pepper on about a month ago and I couldn't wait for it to end. So burned out on them from when I was young.
Feel free to keep enjoying them.

Right now he should be the 7th guy. Man is he bad.

The biggest problem is that the Rangers have 6 #6 defenseman on the team. All of them are average to below average IMO

But I like Zib too

If Hayes could make the switch to wing I would think that would be the best scenario. Gives them the option of keeping both of them.

Yah, but I think we all thought we had a future #1 in Skjei after his rookie season. Man has he been exposed though the last 2 seasons.

He looked great in the first and slow in the next two on Saturday night. Not sure about the same line as Zib but I've been hollering at my TV to pair them on the PP. To my Surprise my TV listened.

It might take a little bit for Hayes to get comfortable. He seems to really like playing center and loves holding on to the puck. I think it might work, because Zib looks to shoot a bit more than Hayes. Why I never liked Hayes and Zuke on the same line, both were always looking to pass.

Still have my copy of the White Album. I should clean it and put it on.
Listened to Pink Floyd Relics (Nile Song) recently, so put on Dark Side for the first time in 20 years. That album is still fantastic! Gave that and The Wall to my daughter to check out, but they aren't D.R.I. or James Brown, so that might take a while.

Biggest problem with those two.
Still think Zucc is damaged from getting his bell rung, possibly why he's hesitant to shoot.
Miss old Zucc.

I agree, but my point wasn't on Beleskey sitting for McLeod, it's more so who sits when all are healthy.
- airjan23

I feel like this question won't get answered with the probable solution. Andersson will either have to take a seat in the press box or go back down to the AHL. He's had chances as a top 6 wing, 3c and 3rd line winger. He's been playing 4th line winger ever since than. Beleskey and Fogarty look like they have some chemistry going on and that dates back to the pre season. Fogarty has been physical and great around the boards since they called up Beleskey as well. I feel like the FO put some thought into those two playing up here at the same time. Meanwhile Andersson has been free falling, he couldn't gain the trust of Quinn. And unlike AV, Quinny has the developmental narrative hanging over his head so FO will always back his decisions up. Btw does anyone noticed how Oliver was suppose to be the the eye's in the sky type of coach? I'm sure Quinn said eff that, so now we have 4 coaches on the bench but they do a great job of keeping it spread out lol. Makes me think that Ruff is truly gone after this year and shows Quinn's reach to the management.

He looked slow in the last two periods? That's just a lazy narrative. Hayes problem has never been his motion of his feet like Lucic, Coyle, Brian Boyle etc.

When coach watches game film he'll see that Kreider was the culprit. Zib was supporting the puck with board battles. Hayes was bringing it up through the DZ and NZ and getting double team by the time he hits the red line. He would chop it out for a mini race that Kreider would lose more than half of the time or not win enough board battles to give his line a chance to come on in with support.

Agreed that those two should be on the PP1. Going by interviews, Zib loved playing with him and sounded like he wanted to continue with that. Hayes had a way with his words that he wanted to stay as a center. Quinn was in the middle and said to expect them stacking up lines to close out games or give more offense. If Chytil or Howden could handle 2c than stacking up the 1st line would be great. The only thing missing would be a actual top line/ elite commodity to pair with them with. Maybe Buch? Even though I'm thinking more of Panarin type player. Btw I loved how Zib and Hayes looked as duo on the PK. It reminded me of when JT played there and it was called a power kill.

How does going back to the AHL help Andersson figure out how to play at the big league level? They went the patient route with him and he scored a point per game down there. He's 20 years old and we have no urgency this season. What's the big rush? Let's keep a little perspective here.

Jan, the blogs are appreciated. So much going on right now.

With a former D man as coach, we all expected Skjei to bounce back, but that clearly hasn't happened. I know he's young, but how does he take the next step to become that #1 D we expected, or is he just a 2nd/3rd pair guy?

- Fenrir

Giving him a 2nd or 3rd pair name is being
really nice if you to do. Right now he's a bottom 4 who should be more sheltered and ease of seeing tougher matchups. He would get eaten alive in a shutdown deployment for a 7 game series. I wouldn't trust him against any of the top lines in the league( Small, big, fast or slow ). They will make him look silly for 95% of the time if he isn't getting bench or put in the press box. He can't disrupt plays that are coming at him on the rush or cycle. His outlet ability is still poor due to inaccurate passing and puck handles. His best attribute is taking it himself and getting half way behind the net for a 50/50 puck battle to throw it towards the slot. His pinching and keep in skills around the other teams blue line is terrible. Girardi could at least take man and use his body as a shield to get it back in deep. This guy's skating is overrated at times, his lateral movement is just bad so fast players can turn him around half of the time due to his poor poke check ability which only gets worst due to competition. I swear a prime Kevin Bieksa can skate more smoothly than Skjei.

That comment of mine was not a opinion. I'm just talking facts here with how all the recent injuries and promotions have been. Andersson obviously hasn't impressed Quinn or the other coaching staff enough. He was given a series of top 9 roles and has been getting demoted ever since he started lol. He returns back to the 4th line and now on the wing with Fogarty playing keeps as the 4c. Beleskey is a type of skill that this team lacks and just scored a goal. I don't see those two on the move anytime soon. So...

Someone has to come out for Buch real soon. All signs points to Andersson fixing to be in the press box when healthy. Quinn could easily sell the idea because he hasn't given him any time on the special teams so the team can live without him. That leads me to assume that the narrative once again will be- It doesn't make sense for Anderrson to sit, he'll be going back down to the AHL.

I'm not good with hypothetical questions but it just looks like that's how the cookie is getting cut, by Andersson getting sent back down. 100% if Fogarty takes off with this 4c role with a mix of a healthy Zucc. It's not like the guy has been a top AHL player anyways. I don't know how his stats show a point per game but whatever. Excuse me for keeping it real but all signs point to him in the press box and back down to the AHL. Your optimism isn't showing in the coaching staff or when healthy with Buch or Zucc.

Call it like I see it, like a eightball shot. There's nothing to support that claim of him looking lazy in those last two periods. Sorry?🙃

12 points in 14 games with the Pack this season. You can nitpick, I guess, but I feel ok calling that a point per game.
Lias plays tough, throws the body, has a decent defensive game to stand on and has been cited as a potential captain someday. He's a kid transitioning to the game at the next level. Perhaps that's why he hasn't been moved up the line up too much. Why add to the learning curve and make it harder for him?
Doesn't mean he's getting sent down. Not that I couldn't be wrong. But, I'll stand by my optimism, thanks.

That's the thing. People like you come here to get thing's sugarcoated. You rather have like minded folks that echo more or less the same kind of things that you say. Your stuck talking about favorite strangers that you probably haven't ever met because you're all in your emotions. Maybe try having some real friends for some barbershop talk.

Bottom is that if you can't see how all signs point to Andersson going back to the AHL than L.O.L now. Sorry that I didn't go with the wave of how bad it was to not have given Andersson, Hayes 2c role.

Nitpick?? How are you going to give me that narrative when you just called a player a PPG which is a flat out lie? That's a narrative that fits you, what you considered Andersson is fake news, sorry my man. If someone wanted to write about all the PPG in the AHL than he wouldn't be in the discussion because he never was that. If you want to ice it due to nitpicking than be my guess.

"Perhaps that's why he hasn't been moved up the line up too much. Why add to the learning curve and make it harder for him?" So giving him valuable experience is now a learning curve after being on the 4th line? Yet you're still optimistic about him not going back down to the minors? Your limbo on his development and where he's played is not accurate here's some proof for you.

“The games where I’ve gotten a lot of ice, I feel I’ve played well,” Andersson said. “I’ve been moving from wing to center and from line to line, so that has been an adjustment, but I feel that I’m learning and developing as a player.

^ I don't agree with him since he's already been demoted before the team got 100% healthy. It also doesn't add up to what you're trying to say. I digress so here's some more proof on his movement through the lines.

"He has played two games as a top-six winger, three games as a third-line winger, one game as a third-line center, one game as a fourth-line winger and eight as the Blueshirts’ fourth-line center." Far from being a stagnant 4th liner, his TOI may be a little down but he's had chances in the top 9.
