He will for the next team that is stupid enough to sign him as their GM after this season - RatedR80
The Koskinen signing means he’ll be around for another 3 years at least.. |

Kronwall's cap hit isn't $1.7M. Not sure where you're info is coming from? Maybe you are confusing salary with cap hit? Makes me question all the other numbers.
Also, Draisitl was the one who bobbled the pass. Chaisson grabbed it and fed McDavid for the goal. Primary assist was Chiasson. Oh well. Try again. |

Oops, got my #29 and #39 mixed around... and yes thank you, the site I used for those players was incorrect and I have updated the players I mentioned with the appropriate cap hits. |

Alright. Let me get this off of my chest so I can untwist my panties.
3rd game in 4 days, on the back half of a back to back for the Flames. I had read somewhere that the Oilers has the easiest schedule of the year butt someone also pointed out you guys have a ridiculous 18 games playing teams on their back half of a back to back. Either the NHL was feeling sorry for McDavid, or money exchanged hands somewhere and ended up in the back pocket of the schedule maker, or both. Just...wow..
Moving on. I’m a little pissed at our coach for dressing Peluso. Not only was he the scape goat for one of the WEAKEST goalie interference calls I have ever seen(!), he played a total of 2:28 in a game where our gas tanks were already mostly empty already. We could have dressed Czarnik, who is the 5th best Flame corsifor 5vs5 (Todd) and his tank was mostly full. What a (frank)ing waste.
Mikko Koivu hammed it up a bunch on his knee on knee with Gio. Still didn’t look pretty tho. We missed him. He’s definitely a top 5 D in the NHL right now. Backlund hasn’t put up the same offensive numbers so far as he did last year, but boy did it show we missed his excellent 2 way game. Lines really get messed up when he’s out, that’s for sure.
Bottom line, you played the weakest Flames team we’ve had all year, and it was a 1-1 tie. I’m glad Hitch has cleaned up your systems, especially defensively. Butt don’t get to high on your horses yet, you’ve got a long way to go. Thank God for your new goaltender, he’s pretty good. Just don’t keep hanging out to dry or he will become mortal.
Panties successfully untwisted.
Good win Oilers. See you for round 3..
Edit: Dammnit, I forgot to put in the no excuses disclaimer first, you won fair and square. You were the best madamemoisels last night. Thanks to Boner for pointing that out btw. - Flamin_Irishmin
I dont recall flames fans complaining about other teams being on the back half of back to backs in Calgary, such as Nov 19th when Vegas played in Edmonton the previous night. Nor November 28th vs Dallas when the Stars played in Edmonton the previous night. Nor November 30th when the Kings played in Edmonton the previous night. But Flames fans are probably right and the schedule makers have it out for the Flames. |

Strome climbing up the roster a bit with the Rangers and now with 6 points in 11 games. However, his on-ice GA against have shot up even more than his scoring has. |

Probably just my hate. In all seriousness I have no issue with Chiasson. He has put up some great numbers. The issue is if he is not scoring he isn't bringing much to that line. He isn't an overly aggressive forechecker, he isn't a massive guy who is always winning puck battles against the board.
When his shooting percentage regresses what will he be offering to that line? No issue with Hitch playing the hot hand but i dont think he will remain on that line come February |

February? The guy has already regressed to the tune of 3 points in his last 7 games. I wont be shocked to see him dropped in the lineup by Christmas. |

Sweet dishes to McDavid like he did last night. Plus he has shown he can bury the garbage in front of the net. Let's just agree he is better than that bust J.P. and move on. |

KRUG FOR NUGENT-HOPKINS?
BOSTON GLOBE: Matt Porter wonders if the Boston Bruins could trade defenseman Torey Krug to the Edmonton Oilers for center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. He notes the Bruins could use “an experienced, highly skilled attacker,” while the Oilers could use playmaking help, especially on the blueline.
Porter also points out the Oilers had some interest in Krug last summer and he could look more attractive now. He also believes Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli could be fired if his club fails to reach the playoffs this season.
Porter suggests sweetening the pot by including a promising forward such as Edmonton native Jake DeBrusk, Anders Bjork, Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson, Ryan Donato or Danton Heinen. Krug has a modified no-trade clause but maybe he’d waive it to play with one of the game’s greats in Oilers center Connor McDavid.
Krug & Donato or DeBrusk for RNH.... Interesting idea |

I can't see Boston moving Krug AND a winger for Nuge. Love it if they would, just don't see them doing it.
Would love to have Krug though. |

It's not even our wishful thinking... that's coming from Boston MSM.
We would need to move a left handed d-man.
Can you imagine if we did Krug & Debrusk for RNH and then flipped Nurse and a pick for Parayko.
Krug / Paryako
Larsson / Klefbom
That top four would allow us to keep Bouchard sheltered and allow him to develop properly. |
