Liljegren is going to be a good defenseman. - CoHo_to_B-Lo
Liljegren is Gardiner 2.0. He’s like having a 5th forward on the ice. Great in the o-zone, last guy you want on the ice in his own zone. |

the biggest problem with the sabres, is they really are not in a win now position due to murray
have a lot of bad contracts, mostly due to murray
and do not have the prospects to be able to trade for short term help, mostly due to murray
the prospects we hoped would help a few years ago, bailey, baptiste, guhle and nylander are not on the roster, just not good enough or in baptiste's case moved on
murray pretty much ignored getting quality d men in the draft and few of his picks made outside the first fail to become decent prospects
then you look at molson, bogo, and okposo are really bad contracts, murray
assuming skinner signs, that trade becomes a home run, but still a chance he walks
the pilut signing was a great pick up, IMO we need to find ways to get more of them
the wild trade was parts for parts and even though pommer is a bad cap hit, we were in a position to absorb it, but scandella has been a huge disappointment
the ror trade, berglund and the pod racer have been meh at best, and we still have 15 more mil of them on the books after this season
49 contracts in the organization, hopefully down to 38 or 39 after this season to finish this mess murray made and start to turn the page
on the surface it's not as bad as it was, but when you take a deeper look, it's still a mess
middle 6 on the current roster is brutal
a few bad contracts
a few busts in rochester they should not offer a contract to once they expire
but the good is goaltending depth in the pipeline and finally have some D depth building in the pipeline
ain't got sh!t up front in the pipeline thanks to murray
right now, the best course is to get skinner locked up and addition by subtraction
rant over - homiedclown

But maybe not right away
And at the very least,
he doesn’t make up for Gardner- not now
Maybe eventually?
They might be able to bring back Hainsey on the cheap?
But he’s not that good anyways, just ok-ish
Rosen & Borgman are the other young guys i was talking about
Just a quick look at their numbers makes it seem like Borgman could be ok,
with Rosen having some real promise
Again though,
I haven’t paid any attn to them at all once the Leafs signed them 2 summers ago |

IMO Lily won't become as good as Gard is now. Hainsey is horrendous.
The Leafs signing JT and WN (frank)ed them. I literally think the decision to not trade Willy for D help will cost them the Cup. |

Was hoping Pominville was put back on the first line yes it looks wrong on paper but it just works and that line just goes up another level |

I'll be happy when guys like him and Girgs never play with Jack again. He's better than Girgs obviously and had some success, but after a dozen games he started slowing down, noticeably. He can't do it at that level any more, at least he can't maintain it. |

I understand your point but they just work very well together until we find a replacement for him hopefully summer that line is great when together |

Can we wait to take Skinner off Jack’s line until he’s re-signed |

Put Samsonite on the RW with CM and put Tage on Jack's RW; or hell, put Pommer back there.
Okposo on the 2nd line RW slot pretty much guarantees more of the same production from that line.
Projected lineup:
53 Skinner - 9 Eichel - 23 Reinhart
43 Sheary - 37 Mittelstadt - 21 Okposo
72 Thompson - 17 Sobotka - 29 Pominville
71 Rodrigues - 22 Larsson - 28 Girgensons
26 Dahlin - 4 Bogosian
24 Pilut - 55 Ristolainen
82 Beaulieu - 5 Tennyson |

You think we could get him for Thompson and Sobotka? Throw in Berglund to make the celery work. |
