I don't think he wants to go anywhere tbh. He is "home"
He played 7 minutes last night, he will collect his checks and retire at the end of the year. - CoHo_to_B-Lo
I think he meant the Calder cup. |

Bogo has been better than serviceable. Nice to see him actually playing hockey games. His return to the line-up as a pretty good defenseman goes underrated in the reasons why the team has made such a turn around this year, in my opinion. - Angler
He’s just gotta stay healthy
For whatever reason,
when Bogo was banged up & playing he just seemed to lose all confidence
He and Dahlin seem to work pretty well as a pair
McCabe/Pilut with Risto has looked good too

Samson has 26pts in 31g. It's the Jeff Jack Sam Rasmi show. Credit where credit is due and all that.
One thing: Berglund for me is interchangeable with Girgs, Larry or Pommer. I think his lack of speed makes him a bottom 6 player for us. And while I doubt the 3rd or 4th lines are popping in much, they weren't as it was. I basically just want to go from 1 scoring line to 2. If you think this would net more goals, why not.
I get that 3/4 are still issues, but fixing the 2nd line, I think, takes the priority. What would you do? Curious as to lines. - RhinoFan
Are you saying Lockport Larry and Girgs are 3/4 line guys? Maybe in the rest of the league, but on this team they make up 2/3 of our second line.
Because.... minutes. |

I wouldn't be against selling high on McCabe for the right player/contract situation in conjunction with a salary dump. But yeah, any of those non-bolded names would be easier |

I really like McCabe so it would suck to see him go, but for the right return i would understand. |

Package him with Berglund for a 6th. |

- homiedclown
Doubt we can find takers for Okposo or Berglund. Pominville, Moulson contracts come off the books next year. Bogo can stay after next season if he takes a 50% pay cut. Larsson, Girgensons, Beaulieu we cross that bridge when we get to it. Sheary and Hunwick are place holders and probably gone after next year. |

I don’t mind the line 1 & 2 shakeup,
but will we get anything at all out of that 3rd line?
Berglund would be in the mix on that 3rd or 4th line as well
There’s still too many guys in the top9 that are passengers right now
Basically...
It’s Jack and Skinner,
and then a bunch of guys we wanna see more from - jdfitz77
Nothing at all. Ever. Two of those guys should be shot to the sun, amirite? |

do you shop him before or after you lock mccabe up? - homiedclown
McCabe is an RFA, right?
So I’m not too worried about locking him up
That deal will get done
I’m thinking something like:
3 or 4 years, 3.5-4mil
Yesterday, Paul Hamilton said McCabe will get around 5.5mil per and i almost spit out my drink
No way do i see him getting that much |

I think McCabe is the perfect 3rd pair d-man for todays NHL. Our d-corps for the 2019-2020 season is set apart from finding the 2nd pair RHD that 30 other teams are also looking to find.

The instigators were talking today about how they are basically the 2nd line due to ice time. I'm glad they showed up the score sheet. Much needed |

I was talking Thompson and Sobotka.
Because we can’t wxpect two guys both on pace for around 10 goals to provide anything, at all |

I still strongly believe Bergy could be moved. 3.85M only, can bury 1M of that in the minors...that isn't some crazy deal that would be insanely costly. 2nd and a prospect, get something small back, could work for the desert dogs.
Okposo would be pricey and may even be impossible at this point, as you say.
But if Pronger, Horton and Clarkson can change hands, Patrick Berglund is nothingggggg. At least he can still play an NHL role. |

I am very intrigued to see what happens here. Botterill has played the IR game well to shuffle things so far, but it's looking like a group of healthy players should return at once. I am fairly certain a move will be made, unless they just start waiving guys |

pommer, 1 point in last 9 games
maybe it's time to move on from him
pretty sure we can get that production loving lockport larry to the wing, so eat some salary and give him a shot at the cup - homiedclown
Put Pommer back with Jack,
give Sam another shot at Center?
Maybe his distribution skills can help out guys like Thompson, Okposo, Sheary, etc get scoring a bit more
Imo, Sam hasn’t really had a shot at Center in years
Last season with Pouliot & Seth Griffith on his wings for 7ish games wasn’t setting him up for a reasonable chance at success
At least now, we have some guys with offensive talent we can play him with

It’s a numbers game right now though to keep Pilut up
Unless they decide to just waive/send down Scandella &/or Hunwick |

Elie and Nelson.
But if I'm the Sabres, I'm looking to package a d man, a pick and a prospect for a Namestnikov/Anisimov/other instead
Use the log jam as an opportunity instead of a problem |

I pretty much agree with all this
Better to at least have 2 lines scoring than just the 1
I think we are at the point where we either have to break up Jack & Skinner,
or give Sam another shot at Center
Skinner-Jack-
Sheary-Sam-
Berglund-Mitts-
For the RWs, shuffle around Pommer, Okposo & Thompson until we (hopefully) find the right fits
Then I’d look at shuffling the LWs if that didn’t work
Then I’d look at bringing up a kid or 2,
but then we’d have to convince ARZ, EDM, or whoever, to take on guys like Berglund & Sobatka |
