We probably wouldn't have dahlin, if we picked draisaitl. - Boss34
FALSE, we had Lehner in net, we were getting Dahlin even if we had an allstar team in Buffalo. |

Offensive zone starts 5 on 5 this season.
Mitts - 81
Larsson -15
15. He doesn’t even average an O zone start per game.
He’s being used as a defensemen dude. Your focus on him is so bizarre - sbroads24

It's not though. The point stands. The "4th line" plays more than the "2nd line." To expect nothing from the "4th," but more from the "2nd" is illogical. Of course scoring is going to be bad when you're playing grinders more than scorers. I agree this is a non-issue if Larsson is playing 7 minutes, but he's playing 14
Everyone who is not on the 1st line needs to do more, absolutely. But to use zone starts as the end-all-be-all of a conversation makes no sense imo. Sobotka and Larsson both play more than Mittelstadt, so why are we calling the Mittelstadt line the 2nd line?

Actually the two players to blame are Berglund and Sobotka. I can’t imagine Botts really planned to start Casey as his 2C, but he was thrown into that place after the Blues trade failed to produce someone who could fill that role reliably.
I’m sure that by now Samson was classified as a wing, not a C, especially during his holdout.
There *is* a guy who could produce admirably at 2C (albeit at levels that would disappoint for a 2d overall draft pick), and who could also pitch in on the DZone faceoffs so we could end this Larsson whirlwind. But that guy is a toxic bad Catholic. |

Yeap exactly this.
He has had some horrible things happen to him.
He was supposed to come in and be the 1st line winger this team desperately needed.
He is now a 6MM 3rd/4th line guy.
He is one of the worst contracts in the league right now.
That GMTM. |

they need to do somethign. that 2nd line has not been pulling its weight. Casey is too young and inexperienced to be a #2 C in this league and we don't have a #3 C at all.. plus the wingers.. do we have one legit second line winger? maybe sheary? |

I'm sure this has been said but Kyle Okposo is Matt Moulson 2.0. Both are getting paid way more then they deserve and both came from the Islanders. |

What if I told you the 4th line is the second line?

Larsson has a higher average ice time than Mittelstadt. So who is the 4th liner, and who is the 2nd? - jcragcrumple
What if you were told that Phil is playing the match-up game...puting Larsson out when the teams top 1 or 2 lines are out there...wouldnt that skew his numbers up?
What if you were told that Larson is thrown out for D zone draws on other lines, then is supposed to come off the ice as soon as they clear the Dzone...wouldn't that skew the lines.
Your hate for Larsson is over the top.
Sure, most of us would like tk see an upgrade, hell, I'd like to see an upgrade for nearly everyone not names, Eichel, Skinner, Dahlin !
Focus the uoogrades where it will pay the most benefits....middle 6.

year 1, 45 points
year 2 44 points in more games played
year 3, if he plays in 80 games, on pace for 40 points and it's a big if
when comparing him to moulson though, at least moulson is almost a ppg player in the AHL, not sure Okposo can do that right now

That totally misses the point I'm making. The Larsson line is the middle 6. It is at the very least, the 3rd line. |

I heard some people elude to the idea that the Okposo signing as the pegulas trying to land a big fish FA.
If thats the case, i hope they have learned their lesson to let the GM do his job. He’s not even terrible, he’s just getting paid about double what he should be. |

peggy told the drunken GM he wanted a team to compete for a playoff spot in 2016-17
the drunk was on the hot seat despite what people wanted to believe that summer, and it a was a panic move by the drunken gm to try to salvage something
same for the Kulikov trade
Murray thought Okposo, Kulikov and Nilsson would get us in position to be a possible buyer at the 2017 deadline |
