I see it taking a lot more than that

I’d be willing to up the 2nd to a 1st provided that they can get a 1st from a contender for Simmonds and that’s the 1st included in the deal. If Chicago thinks they can get more than a late 1st and 2 good prospects for an aging goalie and a middle 6 center, they are kidding themselves

the Flyers goaltending needs stink with desperation...The cost to add either guy is going to be costly. It's just the way things work.

That's giving up a lot for Anisimov. Chicago would do that in a heartbeat.
- Glak18

Is it though? A 2nd is nice but no guarantee that it pans out. Sandstrom is a nice goal prospect but again, far from given and Rubtsov, while also a good prospect, is out for the season on IR. I think it’s a fair deal for both sides.

Obviously the depth is much weaker at center but they guy is our best winger as well so that goes both ways. Hell he would probably be our best Dman if he was back there too.
- ClaudeFather

Totally agree. I think that center is more important to the team than wing which is why I find it strange to keep him on the wing and complain about a hole at center.

A late 1st and 2 good prospects would be a lot to turn down on Chicago’s part.

Obviously not the same situation (at the time he was a solid goalie) but looking back to the Ben Bishop trade he fetched a garbage return both trades he was involved in.

Agreed. No chance am I giving up a first and Ratcliffe for another injury prone goaltender

Crawford is no where near a 1st on his own, maybe a 2nd at most for a desperate team, but a good goalie prospect, a mid-tier prospect and a 2nd with UFAs Elliott and Weal.

Chicago would have to add more to be lucky to dump that much cap.

I just got looking at previous trades involving goaltenders. The good news, people are expecting to give up way more than what they are actually going to have to give up.

Only if Bob can keep the goals under 5 per game and promise to win 1 playoff series in his life.

Bryz has more series wins as a flyer than BOB has in his career

To put it in perspective...

Cory Schneider, at 26, was traded for the 9th overall in the off-season. A budding goaltender who at the time was just reaching his prime and was playing behind Luongo.

In that category currently, probably John Gibson or Andrei Vasilevskiy.

There is NO ONE who would be available worth a 1st or close to it.

His stats look awesome, but he was one of my all-time hated goalies for the Flyers. Absolutely overrated trash. Most of his saves he was looking the other way. People use to call him the giant Hasek

The Flyers would also be getting Anisimov. For Crawford straight up, I’d offer Elliott and a 2nd and maybe a prospect like Lacyzinski who may choose not to sign with the Flyers and go the FA route.

I can. I have never seen someone give up as many soft goals as this guy in my life. That time he tried to do his patented "mask save" and wiffed his entire head as the puck went in the net still gives me nightmares.

That's what I figured, that means a lot of what you proposed was for Anisimov. I would like to see him at 3C for the Flyers, but he isn't that special of a player to cost that much.

Just looking at Chicago cap situation AGAIN, they will probably have to pay something to clear cap. If I am the Flyers, no way I am paying a lot AND helping them out.

It goes even deeper than that. The first thing to look at is why is LA looking to trade Quick?

Many people are failing to consider that cap space is a valuable currency in the NHL today.

Because they're going to suck for several years and they'll likely lose him to Seattle in the expansion draft anyway.

Yeah, LA is terrible. They should seriously be considering blow it all up. It's not limited to Quick.

Doughty is going to start carrying a cap hit of 11 million as a 31 year old next year and they're dead last in the league. They've got some serious questions to ask themselves moving forward.
