Was that sarcasm? - Glak18
Just making sure Mjl doesn’t respond to me that I said the opposite a couple days ago. I don’t want to listen to him defend hakstols system, which refuses to describe, for an hour. |

Quick and Crawford are Stanley cup winning goalies. These are "contend now" type of moves, and they aren't there yet.
I would imagine there are younger options who are better than Elliot/Nuiverth. Plus I'd hate to see what those 2 goalies would cost. - Pelle31Forever
"contend now"... Hell, the Flyers aren't "compete now" with the current line up of goalies. They have to explore looking at those goalies. We need some one to bridge the Hart gap. A goalie in the 32-33 age range would be perfect.
Crawford signed through 2020 (NMC), currently 33 with cap hit of $6M.
Quick signed through 2023 (might be to long until Hart), currently 32 with cap hit of $5.8M.
The question is who do the Hawks and Kings got, who's ready to step up as goalie. Who are we willing to give up. |

I believe you're insinuating things. I don't buy that he was being an ass. Hextall was doing exactly what he said he was going to do when he was hired. Hextall was inclined to make offers to Taveras and Stastny. He signed JVR. The next step will be taken by the young players. - MJL
You don’t know that either.... unless holmgren told you that at your lunch with him. |

Like you do?
All i can do is read reports that were out there and comments from people.
And you have no clue what offers were made. Were they talked about..sure. but we have no clue what offers are made to players.
You have this blind loyalty to Hextall. Holmgren said seral times "unyielding". So to me I take that is Hextall was going to do it his way and wasn't going to be flexible.
I am trying to take the information i have and try to decipher it. |

I didn't make a statement that Hextall was being an ass. Seems as though you have a blind loyalty to Holmgren. |

Well now, being an ass is a subject that I have total confidence in your opinions. I mean with your years of experience you should know what your talking about. |

Just winning the Cup by itself doesn't instill confidence in me. Hell, Leighton was 1 OT goal and a victory away from the Cup and Niemi did win the Cup. So did Murray and from what I see, he is a dumpster fire now. See what I mean. Anyhow, I really don't care about their historic resume, I'd like a player who is doing decenlty well now. Jus' Sayn |

They'd be winning, which means fans would be more interested, which means more TV viewers and better ticket sales, which means more revenue.
Just to really break it down. |

Have we traded for Quick yet? The playoff push needs to begin now.
The 2019 budget is due next week and inquiring minds need to know if the revenue for a couple extra home games can be counted on this season. - StepfordSam

why not just sign bob - 2Real
Only if Bob can keep the goals under 5 per game and promise to win 1 playoff series in his life. |

It's pretty clear to anyone listening why Hextall was fired. I also think those reasons point to some major changes on the horizon.

If they don't make the playoffs next year then signing Bob as a UFA would be the dumbest thing since JvR for Schenn. |

why the hell not? hopefully the new GM can fill some holes....he has the assets, he has the cap space...and the Flyers have some really talented guys to build around..

No, that's his way of telling people what the Flyers need to do to be better, but at the same time tell everyone how the franchise is the worst in the league. |

Didn't read. Nope
Edit: Couldn't help but go back and read.
1st and Myers? Someone is overvaluing Quick, I was thinking a 3rd and maybe a low tier prospect at most.
Lehtera isn't a big deal anymore, he is off the cap after this year. No need to add any value to take him off the books. |
