I'll add a few comments here on some observations the last few games and columns and then drop off again.

Peter's columns have gotten much better from a biased reporting standpoint. Good on Peter for realizing that his following of Twitter was causing biased reporting which no decent reporter should ever do.

Perreault is not nearly as good as some on here think, and there is no chance in hell that he is a better player than Connor. He's on the fourth line because that's where he fits best. I believe he will no longer be a Jet after this season. We can't afford to pay fourth line talent that type of salary. He's be a good fit on the third line in Montreal. He has good defensive skills and excellent work ethic but his offensive ability is definitely on the decline. Package him as an asset with a Kulikov salary dump and it will go a long way to solving some of our salary cap problems. Sell him off while he still has some value. Vesalainen will be ready by next year. We won't need Perreault.

I see Tanev as a better overall player than Perreault actually. If you add up all the penalties Tanev draws , which I think would be is at least 15-20 already, and then plug in our PP percentage , Tanvev added another 5 goals to our offence so far. He, therefore, has the overall value of a 20-25 goal scorer on a seasonal basis not to mention his excellent defensive skills. Big mistake not to have given Tanev extra term.

As for Maurice. It perplexing why anyone would question a coach whose team beat Nashville last year and coached the team to the second-best record in the league. Vegas was fresh from sweeps and the Jets were spent after Nashville so I don't hold it against the coach or the players that we lost the subsequent series. Maurice is a top 5 NHL coach and we are very lucky to have him. Dwelling on records of lousy or rebuilding teams is very lame. Just read what several other coaches are saying...things like " that's the toughest team we have played all year" . It's not just the players but the system they use that makes it so tough to play the Jets.

Jets PP struggled for a bunch of games leading into and including the first part of the last road trip without Myers or Buff. Now that Buff and Myers are back on each of the units the PP has once again been spectacular. Myers, in particular, is back into the top form he demonstrated in the playoffs last year.

While Appleton has been excellent since he was called up and deserves to stay, I've have a feeling we may see some of Logan Shaw at some point this season. What an excellent acquisition he has been .

Everyone talks about Jack Hughes , and I'm not denying he is another young star. However, as the World Juniors approaches, I think the talk of the tourney might actually be the 17 yr old Rimouski phenom Alexis Lafreniere. He might actually outscore Hughes !

Edit: I'll also add that there is a ton of incentive to finish first this year in our division or conference . Whoever doesn't in the Central is in for a rough playoff ride. For example if Jets finished second they might play either Colorado or Nashville in the first round instead of maybe Edmonton ,Dallas, or Anaheim. Finishing first means the likelyhood of Nashviile and Colorado bashing it out in a long series.

Great to see Myers rounding back into his previous top pairing forum.

Allows Chevy to look at sending Trouba and Little for Toews.

Chicago is about to blow it up.
