This isn't a new thing... a few former players have eluded to Hall and Eberle being an issue with their night life.

You don't because he's a professional and look what happened when Hall figured out how to do the same.
- Reveen.

If it is a fact and guys in the league talk to each other I wonder if someone from the Devils got wind of it and had a chat with Hall upon his arrival

Trying to remember where I heard it so I can find a link and post it...apparently this is something Hitch is seeking.....or it’s just rumours spinning because Sweeny was at the BOA

You disagree with him? The guy who was on the team, and could actually verify whether Hall, Nuge, and Eberle were actually doing these things vs. your opinion, someone who wasn't involved in anything at all, and then use regular season point statistics (as if they matter in comparison to the story Ference was telling) as a counterpoint to the idea that they weren't going out till 3 am.... your thoughts make no sense.

I feel like you misunderstand. His point is not to contest that they were doing it but to contest the idea that their doing this was the problem that caused the team's failures.

Did it help? Likely not, but the lack of ability through the rest of the roster is a MUCH bigger reason for the team's failures. Any suggestions otherwise are patently absurd.

There is a certain logic to the idea. Coupled with the Nuge/Krug speculation, it wouldn’t surprise me if the idea was being bounced around.

I don’t think that will be an issue with McDavid tho during last season I wouldn’t have blamed him if he did get drunk after every game

Unless he was there to scout Flames players which is possible too....does Lucic wave his NTC to make it happen is another question

Of all the teams in the league that he would waive for, one would think Boston is one of the few.

I did not post the whole article (it is cited at the bottom) but Ference full conversation and his point was that those players partying and how they acted was why the Oilers were not a playoff team during that time.... it wasn't. Those three players were consistently the best players on those awful rosters.

NO...do not mention Andrew Ference, ever.

He was far and away the worst Capt.t..n of the Oilers in history (I can't even type it). The only reason he was even given that letter is because he and Eakins shared the same passion for neon-vegan-fitness-raves.

This player under-performed on the ice consistently, but it was HE who was utterly distracted by off-ice activities. I recall specific instances when the team lost a game and within minutes...MINUTES...Ference was tweeting about his next 5am run or workout with his twitter and social media followers.

This guy was a joke of a player and a total joke of a team leader. Anything he says is pure nonsense and cannot be taken seriously at all. I bet he is just sour because he was such a loser that he didn't get invited to any team functions.

What a loser...wow. I can't believe he is still making excuses 4yrs later.

So what would such a deal look like?

Nuge, Nurse, Lucic for Krug, Backes, Heinen?

If the article is to be believed then you don’t need to add Nurse so you could use him in another trade

I'd withhold a significant amount of the cap to secure the deal, too. I still don't think they'd ever make the deal straight across, but maybe they still love Lucic that much Withholding 1.5 (maybe 2mil) for the duration and taking the hits from Backes' buyout is still favourable to buying him out ourselves and saves us about 6 or 7mil in cap over the duration.

I think Kooch needs to be traded to Florida or Arizona. If I were him I would not want the scrutiny of an actual hockey market. Some place where the media will not eat him alive.

Mind you I’m just going by what was stated.....it was Nuge for Krug and a younger asset so you could have it all and not give up extra

Oh yes buying out Backes at the end of the season costs 10 mil and buying out Lucic costs 21 I believe (that’s without taking salary but even then that’s less painful long term) I don’t know why Boston would make that deal unless they are certain Lucic will find his scoring touch playing with former team mates but obviously no one here is going to complain even if a bit of salary was retained

He did have his best years there...won a cup and as far as I know still loved by Boston....I wish Arizona would do the take a bad contract to hit the cap floor deal like they used to do
