Top heavy IMO.

Barkov/Dadonov/Trochek/Hoffman/Huberdeau are a mix of good and very good while the rest of the forwards fall off hard.

Ekblad/Yandle is a good top pair then comes the cliff again.

Lou/Reimer isn't the worst but also isn't great.

Edit: If you disagree, there are taxis you can call for yourself outside.

One issue teams like Florida and Arizona face is they are so limited financially, it really makes it difficult to move forward into being a contender.
Everyone says the cap was so good for the NHL, but the top organizations all have top "Organizational Budgets" (Scouting, couching, things not counted against the cap).

This is bang on.

They do need to move on from old Luongo at this point though.... and Reimer ain't the solution.

They should have stayed the course until it actually failed maybe....

Leafs aren't trading for any defencemen.
They aren't. So you can all stop being idiots!

yeah I can't see it happening unless someone gets injured. They're tight next year as it is, and you can see Dubas already planning to fill out the roster with maybe Rosen, or Sandin, or Liljegren. Hainsey is definitely gone, and most likely Gardiner too. But I wouldn't count on Gardiner - I think they'll try re-sign and fit him in.

It all depends on what happens with Marleau this summer. Maybe Zaitsev.

They absolutely/definitely* are and I demand that it's my birthright to be an idiot, sir!

* Possibly/maybe/have no idea or any sources to prove they are or aren't/etc.

that's an absolutely horrid idea. That's exactly what Leafs management of a decade ago would do.

And I LOVE Duncan Keith. But no. No way, no how.

Oh ok.
And the leafs arent signing Tavares either.

A top line dman is not coming, but a 4- 5 dman could be.

I agree. Why the (frank) wouldn't they add a warm body for a long playoff run.

Because we don't want to give Bracco to another team, and be forced to watch him develop into a superstar.

Every single one of our prospects will be great nhlers, and if we are patient enough, our young D will grow into superstars in 3-5 years.

Come on, its so obvious.

I don't think it happens either but just thinking it through ...

If you think he has 2 or 3 good years left in the tank as a top 4 dman. He's got 5 years left at an AAV of 5.5'ish but his salary drops from 4.5 this year down to 1.5 in that 5th year. And I think if he waves his NMC to accept a trade the NMC is gone.

So if he's still good ... if he comes on the cheap ....and if he waves his NMC (and it's gone) ....then he's pretty good value for a couple of years and is probably tradeable down the line due to his NMC being waved and his low salary figure. Just a thought ...
