8-2-1 with the Oil, Hawks shoulda hired Hitch. - Butcherboy66
Hitch pretty much said that EDM was the only job he would have considered.

With the way JC likes to double shift Kane - push him a little harder:
Saad-Toews-Kane
DeBrincat-Strome-Kane
Kahun-Kampf-Kane
Sikura-Kruger-Kane - EbonyRaptor
Very interesting - you also might free up a few Million of Cap space |

That looks legit. I think Kane plays D now too.
Keith - Kane
Kane - Seabrook
Manning - Kane |

If the team is truly tanking, Kane should not see more than 16 minutes of wear and tear a night. This double shifting is just nuts. |

OK Rutherford -
Saad, Keith and Crawford for Parayko, Tarasenko and Fitzpatrick. Not that 2 or 50 would consent, but seems fair. - Return of the Roar
Not sure what you mean by that?
A massive trade, in division also. Not sure. I would say seems fair too. |

Islanders also have free agents to resign. I know Panarin is open to NY, but I think he said Rangers. I know you just meant it as speculation. - I Am The Breadman
I'm actually gonna be shocked if Panarin isn't a Ranger next season. |

Makes sense. They have some really good young pieces and a lot more to work with in terms of improvement. |

Since Stan is probably half way through a bag of kettle chips doing nothing right now I thought I would proxy.

That would be a terrible trade for STL
If they sell...they definitely wouldn't package Vlad and Colton. They'd get way more in separate deals. And I'm sure it would be to get younger prospects and picks
I could see them shipping Vlad to like the NYR...then the Rangers going after Panarin in the off season |

Two top ten picks would be amazing - Savetheembers33
Would love to have two #1 picks again, especially top 10. Just playing out this fantasy:
https://www.draftsite.com/nhl/mock-draft/2019/
Draftsite's 2019 draft projections as of today. Hawks at #3 taking Dylan Cozens (C) and Avalanche at #7 taking Arthur Kaliyev (RW). Others in the top 10 besides Hughes and Kakko:
Podkolzin (RW)
Broberg (D)
Dach (C)
Lavoie (C)
Byram (D)
Boldy (LW)
p.s. If you do a web search for Dylan Cozens, be sure to type "hockey" as an extra search term or else you get Phillies outfielder by the same name. It's like Connor Murphy and the bodybuilder who comes up first in searches. |

Also, I do appreciate the criticism towards Jeremy Colliton.
I think he will be continually judged as time goes on as his tenure here.
It is his job to get this thing somewhat turned around. What I don't think is fair is the team he's been handed however. That's on Stan. - Justin Lowe
This whole dumpster fire is clearly on Stan. It starts from him not aggressively making impactful moves 2 years ago , then followed up by his awful limited moves this summer, but to top it off he fired a HOF coach to pass the blame off oh himself onto and in turn promoted a inexperienced unproven guy to coach this team?
Colliton inexperience is showing , at least if coach Q was here I do believe this team as badly constructed as it is and limited in talent would not night after night , come unprepared and be more productive.

Yeah and we might be 20th instead of 31st so there is that. |

Toronto would never do this trade.
With Keith, I think you have to look for cash strapped contenders.
Avs
Keith
Blackhawks
Matt Nieto
and their first round pick from the Sens. - walleyeb1
You don't think Toronto will trade Kapanen but Colorado would give Nieto and possibly Jack Hughes?
Really don't think the Leafs would want Keith .
Not with him making 5.5 a year for the next what 5 years.
Leafs are gonna have to watch their cap for next year.
Leafs should go all in this year but I don't think Keith will be the route they go. |

I’m glad we’re not in 24th or 25th. We need top pick talent. If you’re not going to make the playoffs you might as well have the best chances of a top pick. Islanders have been a bubble team for ten years and they still terrible. Picking 14-25 in the draft won’t get you far unless you make great selections. Hawks are guaranteed a 4th overall at least as of right now. |

I agree with this strategy. Some teams call it "shrinking the ice" so the other team has less real estate to play with. Pressure early and often: start with the O-zone blue line, then the neutral zone, then the D-zone blueline. If all else fails, then keep the team to the perimeter and be physical as much as being a stick checker. - AEL_Fox
And even if they lose playing this way, they will probably be a bell of a lot more competitive and entertaining |

Thought for a while he was working with Sather with the Rangers. Think this was getting counter-balanced with a huge love of family life in the Carolinas. |

its been men vs boys for quite awhile...
0-6 in december...nothing close to complete 60 minute game; 40 second lead in the last 660 minutes of hockey....just wow.
i think they can eek out a few pts in december but it looks at best a 1-13-1 - bogiedoc
Yes Colliton blame the team you weak, no talent. No doubt the team has no respect for you and your Tier 2 Swedish Beer League resume. That you fooled Nepotism Bowman, who knows all about having a job he doesn’t deserve, was only the first step. You have no novel, special coaching skills, coaching ideas. The rest of the NHL is just laughing. |

The Hawks went 3-5-1 in coach Q's last 9 games. They went 3-4-2 in JC's first 9. After the Schmaltz trade they're 0-8-0. I know Schmaltz was having a bad year but maybe the players really liked him and viewed him as a real talent? I mean they were bad before this trade but since it's been ridiculous. Maybe that trade was the last straw for some of the players. I agree Colliton as a 33 year old with no experience looks like a bad hire by Bowman (especially replacing a coach with Q's resume) but these guys since that trade look like they have given up completely. |
