Seabs is a D. We were talking this joker wanting to punt Hayden and Kruger. Wondering who replaces them?
A) Kunitz
B) A clone of Wayne Gretzky
C) No one
The correct answer is not A or B - kwolf68
I actually wouldn’t mind seeing Hayden at center. |

Nonsense. Let Hayden play. He needs the ice time. If he develops great, if not we move on. He's still a kid.
So smart guy who you gonna scratch him for? Kunitz or one of the nothing forwards in Rockford. I am all ears to your master plan. - kwolf68
Poppycock, I'd rather see fortin skate than Hayden fall |

I heard Boqvist is more like a forward. Let's get him in here and forget developing him. Just ditch Kruger and Hayden and give Boqvist a forward role. - Hawks_49
And if it doesn’t work out? We’ll jettison his ass down I90 with the rest of the useless garbage. |

Victor Stalberg-lite if we're being realistic. Fortin really really works hard and I really like his effort level, but holy poop I can handle a puck better than him when I'm drunk |

Fortin is terrible. He will never be an NHL player PERIOD. At worst Hayden should at least become a solid checking line fourth liner. |

Yeah Seabrook has a great shot and he got a goal tonight but he is terrible in the d-zone because he can't make consistent passes, he's not quick enough to cover and he turns the puck over with regularity,
His Cap hit is $6.8M which means if the Hawks retain 50% in a trade they would carry $3.4M of dead cap space for another 5 or so years but I would be in favor of that. I think losing $3..4 off the Cap is preferable to Seabrook stinking it up on the ice for 82 games each season. He's not going to get quicker so things will only get worse. Maybe some team would accept him in a trade for $3.4M Cap hit. Hell - throw in Kahun or someone just to unload him. |

Dagnabit, thats some serious counterpoint on your part. You keep enjoying Hayden tripping over blue lines cause, well, he's young |

Agreed. It would surprise me, no, shock me, to see Fortin in the NHL for more than 100 games in his entire career |

There will be an out to his contract when the next lockout happens. Seabrook will end up being a compliance buyout at some point, and I'd welcome him back in a Roszival role later in his career |

I’ll be brave and say that I thought he showed some positives working on the PK. His speed was useful in coverage.

You're probably correct. Fortin's best (only?) asset is his speed and his main shortcoming isn't his hands - it's his light on his skates skating style. The thing that makes him so fast is the same thing that allows him to be knocked off the puck with a feather. He'll battle and he's actually pretty good with hand/eye and getting his stick on pucks - but the main reason he can't do anything when he has the puck on his stick is because the opposing players barely has to touch him to knock him off stride and off the puck. He needs to get stronger not only upper body but also stronger on his skates. Maybe then he will find a niche in the NHL.
