Pretty sure I saw somewhere that leafs sports and science said nylander needs minimum 10-14 days to even get up to game speed. Everyone knows he isn’t there yet, but it won’t be long before he is.
Also they won’t be trading nylander anytime soon/ever. - bryant
he'll be gone early July 2019. |

That was a joke. It will never happen - BigDog912

Forgive me, Leafs Nation, but I'm just gonna say it:
I think that Kapanen can be just as good as Nylander.
I'd keep Kapanen (at a lower cap hit) and trade Nylander for a defenceman.
Come at me. - Atomic Wedgie
I’d rathwr keep the forward group and have a spottier defence. Let andersen earn his money.
Also didn’t brown get like 2.1million coming off a 20 goal year? I can’t see kapanen getting a crazy raise. |

Nylander lost a step or two, and gained a pound or 20.
At this moment, he just can't keep up with Marner-Matthews-Tavares.. Let's hope he'll recover a bit, so coming off-season Leafs can get a nice return in a trade for him. - plantheparade
Wht are you watching? Nylander could keep up to Tavares with his boots on. |

I’d for sure think about it, depends who the D is and the contract.

Or they just match it and trade him lol - Puck-us-all
I don’t think you can trade a player for a certain amount of time after you match. |

Enjoy it now. Kappy is gone next year. - BigDog912
LOL. Everyone is gone, amirite?????
The funny thing is, we'd get a draft pick out of it. Or more.
And then our organization is so damn on the point these days, they'd just fill the spot with someone just as good or better. |

Nylander is a floater.
He's not a key component to this team.
Way too high of a salary for what he brings.
Rather keep Gardiner over Nylander - and I'm not a Gardiner fan at all. |

Agreed 132% .. Nylander is overweight and slow now.. won’t regain his form - Puck-us-all
Nylander will be fine, he just needs some game time. Not playing in any competitive way will slow a player down, but he'll regain his form. |

I'm in agreement on this one.
I just think like we can come close to replacing Nylander far easier - move up Kapanen and give Johnsson more ice time and try to grab an aging vet who wants to prove he can still play (see Ennis, Tyler).
You aren't going to put your hands in the magic NHL roster bag and pull out a guy who can go replace Gardiner's minutes and points.
Yeah, I know - I'll go frank off back to the Spanish vineyard. |

Offer sheet!!! 3 year 4 million. It will only cost a team 2nd and leafs cant afford to match it. - BigDog912
Dustin Penner reminds you that offer sheets don't really exist. |

Nah, you can't trade a player you've matched on an offer sheet, for one year. |
