They need another defender to handle minutes. For this year and next. Either swing big for Pietrangelo or maybe Parynko or see if you can you Simmonds to get one.

I see a bunch of teams looking for top 6 wingers. Can you get a Josh Manson out of Anaheim for Simmonds and maybe a 3rd rounder?

Macdonald played 22 plus minutes and Provy played 29 plus minutes....those are 1rst pair minutes.

Hell most teams in the league would love to have him in that role.
Playing him in a top 4 role let alone top pair on the other hand is a bad thing.

Voracek is just as bad without the puck. i have seen him plenty of times get out of position when defending in OT. Doesn't always result in a goal but I have seen it. Also Gostisbehere isn't our greatest defender.

Easy to say but who are you playing there then.

We've seen Provorov and Gostisbehere this year and its not good. Problem is they need another top defender. Our vet guys are more 4-6 range guys. They need a vet who is more a 1-3 type guy. Preferably a top guy

Max Pacioretty isn’t a bad player. But you haven’t won with him. Move on. Try something else.

The Flyers won’t collapse if they move on from Simmonds or Voracek. It’s time. It’s time to try something else.

I've said the same thing for 3 years... AMac is a passable 5-6 d man at 14 minutes a night. You over use him and you will pay. Its like ground hog day, every time Hakstol does it.

Pains me to say it but if the right deal comes up for Simmonds then you go for it.

What I dont want them to do is move either of those players just for the sake of making a big trade to shake up the team.

Move them because you are getting a return you think can help this team next year and beyond...

Well it's up to the coach to decide who gets what minutes. Heck Travis Green was playing Derrick Pouliot first pairing minutes for a while there. He's playing 3rd pairing minutes now.

Who has proven out of Ghost, Sanheim, Gudas, Hagg, or Folin that they can be the guy with Provorov. Simple answer is NONE OF THE ABOVE. That's on Hextall and he's gone. Will Fletcher fix it only time will tell.

We've seen Gudas with Provorov … it's the same and Provorov/AMac. Sanheim would be interesting but coach hasn't done it at low pressure situation you really want him to do it when the team is melting down?
