You keep beating the give Sanheim more ice time drum. Who are you pairing him with? Gudas and him aren't a 20 minute a game pair. Provorov and him hasn't been tried but that's a huge jump from 3rd pair minutes to top pair.

He was out there last night on the PK when Calgary scored it's one power play goal. He's only out there due to AMac being in the box.

Do you take Provorov off PP2? Maybe but that's deck chairs because PP2 only really gets about 30 seconds to do something.

- dragonoffrost

What does it matter who is with him? Is it costing us wins to get him experience on the ice? What we are doing isn’t working and being afraid to try something different because we might get worse is ridiculous.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

what the hell is wrong with everyone, Flyers picked up a point on the Pens and Isles, the plan to back into the playoffs is operating a full efficiency

He should start the best OFFENSIVE OT trio in Jake, Ghost, and G. Cooter and Provy can go out second, these games can end in ONE possession as they have in the past two games. Our best unit did not even touch the ice but the group you are defending did. How did we do?
- ClaudeFather

There is NO WAY in hell I want Voracek and Gostisbehere out against the trio Calgary started in OT. If they lose the faceoff or lose possession Giroux may as well be playing 1 on 3 at that point.

I understand your frustration and we all share it. But it was the right move. And as I said, if Provorov finishes his breakaway its all a moot point (Sorry Bodiva I know its not actually the right way to use the term)

I cant believe THIS is what is taking up all our time today while we gloss over the fact it should never have gotten to overtime.

What's the silver bullet? Cause a move with Sanheim ain't fixing SH!T! Hell it'll bring back Ghost/AMac. Don't we all love that pair? Gudas/Hagg? oh joy sign me up. oh wait Gudas/AMac and Ghost Hagg . There are no perfect pairings with these guys.

Konecny-Coots-Provy did last an extra 26 seconds this time around....so there's that.

Depends on what you get. You can trade Voracek for comparable value, I add better depth, or plan for the future.

Maybe the Flyers want to win now. But what if you aren’t good enough to do what you want?

- AllInForFlyers

They aren't good enough. The GM was fired and a new GM was hired with a mandate.for action.

No one should be safe

If they trade players, they aren’t breaking up the 1980s Oilers, and if they fire the coach it isn’t like they fired Scotty Bowman

First, I wasn’t trying to aggravate you with that post so please don’t take it that way.

How about Myers sanheim. An unknown that has potential is better than a known that has a history of being ineffective.

Yup, been making that point all day. Blowing a 2 goal lead that late in the game was a (frank)ing disgrace.

I was working with today's roster and if Myers comes up he's starting pair three. I'd rather wait until Morin is healthy and go Morin/Ghost which is a known comfort from Lehigh. Myers Sanheim had issues last season during the playoffs in Lehigh.

Was watching the Calgary stream and one of the announcers said the following:

Flyers play a very loose style; some would say too loose.

He nailed it. They're set up to trade chances but are lost in their own zone. We're seeing the results when the goalies don't bail them out.

I keep trying to look at the wild knowing our new management familiarity with the organization. Who is a fit ? Rumor is they are shopping neidereter and Coyle. What about spurgeon? Would they trade brodin? What about a lesser guy like foligno? How would any these people help us?

Yes it shouldn't have gone to OT but that was the third consecutive OT loss with no Giroux. Giroux is leading the team in scoring by a fair margin and is one of best face-off guys in the league. You have to play him.

I cant imagine Morin playing a game this year. Hes not expected back until late February and will need time to shake off the rust.

Seems like a lot of folks are ticked off about this game. I'm more angry than all of you. I worked late last night (part time job). Never looked at my phone etc. Got home around 11:45 last night and began watching the game via DVR. (thanks to the wife for that).

Fast forwarded the commercials, had to pause so I could fix the stopper issue in the toilet. Wifey would rather just let the water run all day (thus part of the reason for the part time job). So I had no clue how the game was going to go.

Up 5-3 with under 2 minutes left felt nervous, like something bad was going to happen, something worse than my stopper issue. I was right to feel nervous. Didn't get to bed until after 2am to see that collapse.

Next time, I'll just check my phone to see if it is worth watching and get some much needed sleep.

As soon as it’s possible I’d go with
Provy ghost
Sanheim myers
Morin hagg
Gudas

I would rather watch that lineup struggle and learn than watch the current lineup be ineffective.

They desperately need a top 2 D, a third line center, and a goalie that can steal games. I get Stolie is battling well but well isnt good enough. I’d look to trade Simmer, Voracek and some prospects (only because it would be necessary). I’d knock on Chicago’s door. They have some of these pieces.

After last night, I would be more focused on a Dman than a goalie. I'd do what it takes to get Parayko from STL before the Pens get him. He is young enough to continue to develop with our core D. I would also be looking for that shutdown forward to help with PK minutes. We have to have that killer attitude to close out games late in the 3rd. Pronger would have gone apepoop in this lockerroom.

Michael Leighton carried us to the Cup final. Team d helps an average NHL goalie.

Who ? Crawford ? The guy who got benched a bunch of times for darling? Hes a negligible improvement st best. A top 2 d man? Keith ? Hes the only guy they got and hss 35 with 4 more years after this one on his contract. A third line center is about all I'd want from them. And I wont over pay for anisimov.

Hypothetically if you could do a Voracek for Stone. Is that signalling your giving up on the year? Could it also help moving forward?
- J35Bacher

Wouldn't it be smarter to try signing Stone this offseason and moving Voracek separately?
