He is averaging 22 minutes a night with a +2 rating and played every game for one the worst goal differential teams in the nhl... rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated
- Tfaehner

Ok.

I understand that stats.

For me i just prefer to spend assets somewhere else.

I would rather go after Pietrangelo if available

You keep beating the give Sanheim more ice time drum. Who are you pairing him with? Gudas and him aren't a 20 minute a game pair. Provorov and him hasn't been tried but that's a huge jump from 3rd pair minutes to top pair.

He was out there last night on the PK when Calgary scored it's one power play goal. He's only out there due to AMac being in the box.

Do you take Provorov off PP2? Maybe but that's deck chairs because PP2 only really gets about 30 seconds to do something.

- dragonoffrost

You cut the ice time of Mac and Hagg down and give more to Gudas/Sanheim.

You stop wasting time in a lost season with Mac and call up Myers.

You find ways to give more minutes to your best players, and focus on developing your kids by giving them proper chances.

Hes hurt potentially out the year. And will require an enormous 30 year old contract next off season. Also will cost a heck of a lot more. No thanks. I like the player but not the situation.

I guess I just wouldn't move Voracek for the opportunity to give Stone a huge contract
- PhillySportsGuy

I don't know enough about Stone to know if he's an upgrade or his price. Jake does have have 5 years left with a size-able cap hit.

If they're not gonna go get a Tarasenko for Giroux's wing or Toews/Duchene to center the top line then they should just break this mess down. Just my opinion.

Flyers aren’t been deployed as a young team looking to develop. This is a desperate team trying to sniff some winzzz by playing the “safe vets”. Nice to see it shoved up their ass, because it’s the wrong call.

Sanheim is arguably the best dman for the last what? Month and a half?

- flyer_nutter

What safe Vets? The team has Konecny(top line), NoPa(2nd line for the longest time), Lindblom(2nd line for most the season), Varone(played over Lehtera), Provorov, Ghost, Hagg and Sanheim who are all getting good time. Stolarz is the #1 right now over Vet Neuvirth

Who the frank is Hakstol playing that is considered a safe vet?

What would it take to get Jakob Silfverberg from Anaheim? They are supposedly looking for scoring and youth. He would add strong defensive ability and take PK minutes. Streaky offensive player but has had a decent year thus far. I believe Anaheim has cap limitations as well so no Voracek.

Say we move a 1st or 2nd round 2019 pick, plus a young d or forward for Parayko. Then we get Silfverberg (28yo) for Simmonds/Lindblom (one of) and/or a mid-level prospect. I'd be willing to throw in a Weal or veteran D in either deal to sweeten the pot.

That is not subtracting that much to improve our overall team D. Parayako is signed for another two years and Silfverberg is UFA.

Like all top end defenders get?

Unless your able to get a RFA, it's hard to find top end guys. i know we have promise with Provorov, Sanheim, Myers. But none of them are in the caliber of Pietrangelo yet.

So is next year another building year or we actually going to start pushing forward.

Like Meier but a 33 yo old dman with 6 years left making 8 million for a young up and coming dman like Sanheim who really looks like he is making strides and a potential lottery pick? nah

Just did a quick scan of cap friendly to see who could be a target for a vet d without a no trade clause.

Guess what the pickings are slim.

Trouba or Myers from Winnipeg? Doubt they are trading unless it's for a locked up Ghost.

Pietrangelo or Parayko from St Louis? Be prepared to lose Ghost, Sanheim, or Myers depending on the package

Spurgeon from Minny? Maybe we aren't on his 10 team no go list.

It's really that slim for pickings without someone waiving a clause.

If Im Fletcher I see if I can turn Simmer and Jake into something similar to the Carter and Richards returns.

Prospects, picks and\or young players.

No interest in getting a player that is older than those 2 just because it might help them make it to the first round and get destroyed.

There is no way Toews is coming here unless Chigaco eats like 35% of that contract minimum. And no team is going to do that to themselves.

Yup, been making that point all day. Blowing a 2 goal lead that late in the game was a (frank)ing disgrace.
- BiggE

so true, this team does not execute as a team. On the last goal, Horse face hits the ice, he goes to the left board in the O zone to pressure the puck. A good idea to press and keep the puck out of the D zone or at least shut down the speed through the NZ. What he did not realize is he was the only one, it was an easy out past him and they went blowing through the NZ into our D zone. HF did catch up but now it was a scramble, puck in the back of the net. Since it was a line chang I think HF should have held back but I would have to watch the play again to see wtf everyone else was.

So Chicago, St Louis and LA are looking to sell according to the trade rumors. the Flyers really aren't much better, at least in the standings. I don't understand why we are talking about trading young players for older guys. Seriously I will be so mad if they move ghost or Sanheim. I welcome moving Simmonds and if the deal was right I am perfectly fine moving Voracek. but I just don't get the other talk. and while I am ok with moving draft picks at this point being they have a lot of euros and college kids to sign on the next 1-3 years, I am not interested in moving the 2019 first rounder since that very well may be a lottery pick. it would have to be lottery protected for me

Okay. So why is Keith a no-go since he's signed for 5 years?

Age is an issue, but I wouldn't say no simply because he has big term left.

- jmatchett383

suggested Keith yesterday, right deal i would be ok with it. He would slot into the top 4, maybe even with Provy

Kings analysts think they are getting a 1st and top prospect for him. So... yeah... no
