This team needs a Kimmo Timonen in the worst way. I have no idea who is available, but if they are going to expend assets, please expend them on a quality veteran Dman before all else.

need an Identity back there so bad, again the flyers are a 1 out of 3 team. 1 leader on the O (G), no leader on D or the bench. By leader I mean the Kimmo or Pronger type.

I wonder what the cost would be to try and get Stepan out of AZ?

You could then go down the middle with Couturier, Stepan and Patrick. Stepan can also kill penalties and is signed for 2 more years I believe at 6.5. You wouldn't need to rush Frost or anyone and your team should be able to compete next year.

I know we have guys like Forst, Rubstov, Vorobeyv in the system but we have seen Patrick struggle and I think he has more pedigree then them all listed. Would this allow for some growing pains while still competing.

Also I know this will get me blasted but would they have interest in Voracek? He is signed long term so they can build around him and add him to guys like Galchenyuk, Keller, Davork.

It was just a thought I was running through my head to get better moving forward while maybe not moving some young pieces.

I was just thinking out loud. I feel they almost have to acquire talent because if they play in FA they most likely have to overpay.

At least in Voracek they have a vet signed long term at not a terrible deal to help build with their young players. And they don't have a ton in forwards signed long term./

No interest in getting a player that is older than those 2 just because it might help them make it to the first round and get destroyed.

I hear you on that but the last GM was just fired because the team wasn't winning. I don't think the new GM is mandated with trading good current NHL players for more prospects and young players.
