This team needs a Kimmo Timonen in the worst way. I have no idea who is available, but if they are going to expend assets, please expend them on a quality veteran Dman before all else.

Thanks.

Totally agree getting 2 goàls during empty net time is not a goal tending issue alone if
you scored 5 goals in a roadgame

I hate them both then for not dreaming big, I don't want top 5..I want top 1.

Also very good with a MacKinnon type superstar.

Yeah theres a few projected snipers too for the 6-10 area who I like. But again if we finish that low Holmgren will force us to do something stupid like bryzgalov in a panic move. Especially since Scott trusted him so little he hired a new boss for him. And I figure she wont care about how long hes been with the organization or his friendship with Snider if he dont make comcast money.

The Flyers don’t tank. They do things the correct way.

Hasn’t anyone seen the sign in the locker room?

I think after Hughes it drops with Kakko and Dach then it falls off a bit to guys who will need 2+ years to develop.

They don't need to tank, just play the same way.

I wonder if Bill has an article pre-written for Hak's eventual firing.

If Im Fletcher I see if I can turn Simmer and Jake into something similar to the Carter and Richards returns.

Prospects, picks and\or young players.

No interest in getting a player that is older than those 2 just because it might help them make it to the first round and get destroyed.

But I sure hope they like soap and salt in their coffee.

Not disagreeing but 2 or 3 projected snipers. Something we've needed since what ? Gagne?

OK.

You can make one move for the Flyers today. Right now. What is it?

Coaching, players, nothing at all. You choose.

What would you do right now, if anything?

Trade a 4th round pick to Detroit, who badly needs to shed salary, for Darrin Helm. He’s very good on the PK and can play all 3 forward positions. I’d also move Lindblom onto Patrick’s line and let Laughton center the 4th. I’d also send Varone down and waive and demote Lehtera. I’d call up NAK and put him on that 4th line with Laughton and Helm and let Weise sit. Yeah, he scored last night. Well whoop de (frank)in do, if Smith hadn’t dozed off that puck doesn’t go in. Other than that he basically just took space as usual.

I like it

A little tired of hearing how great the system is when they aren't helping the on-ice product, tbh -- if you're gonna lose, no need to lose with deadweight. Young players have to get a chance when you're where they are

I think Ron Hextall was right about one thing and that was and is to be patient within the development of the young players. There is no “regression” here. Provorov and Patrick are dealing with growing pains. Patrick centering the third line isn’t Patrick taking a step back in development. Claude Giroux was our third line center when he entered the league in 08. He was our third line center during the 2010 playoff run. Simon Gagne saw a lot of the third line. We had to trade aging stars so Gagne could move up, same as Giroux. John LeClair I believe won a Stanley Cup with the Habs as a third line player, Otherwise why would you trade away a 50 goal score knowingly?

A perfect example of having three centers with upside is the case of the Vancouver Canucks in the mid to late 2000’s. Brandon Morrison was centering Marcus Naslund and Todd Bertuzzi. Behind that line you had the Sedin Twins, Henrik at center. Behind that combination you had Ryan Kessler and Alex Burrows. Morrison, Kessler and Sedin are really good center. None of which were hurt in development.

Most drafts have shooters in there, but not many pure snipers along the lines of Ovechkin or Laine, I think Kakko is probably the closest to that level. Dach is a decent shooter much like Patrick.
