So for Kakko and Podkolzin are the two guys that I've really liked watching videos on about their game other than Hughes. I was on Kakko for awhile there because he seems like he will be a very good all around Top 6 Forward in this league and then I saw Podkolzin. If you haven't had a chance to watch that kid can do check him out

impressive stuff. He seems to have a habit of colliding with/running into the goalie. |

My guess is Europe. I don't think they would have done this if it wasn't a somewhat "final" move. |

He's going to be the next spokesman for local plumbing company Ruto Ruter |

Hard to say. Teams are always looking for defense so I wouldn't be shocked if a team claims him to add some depth to their roster (Edmonton?) without having to give anything up. Especially since he's shown some skill at least on offense.
Same time, I wouldn't be shocked if everyone looks at him and feel he's not worth the price even on a one year deal |

Not surprised...
I say Europe. I think he wants to say in the NHL but seeing how all 30 teams passed on him when they had a free shot to pick him up he would have to do A LOT of work in Rockford to rebuild value for a team to be interested in bringing him in |

Haha I noticed that as well but with some better balance that can be fixed. At least he has the handles to get the puck in the net BEFORE he crashes into him |

It could also be a cap/number of contract issue. Maybe teams will trade an AHLer for him? |

Not sure if this is the final move, but Rutta has been assigned to the IceHogs. |

Kid looks pretty slick. I honestly haven't watched much about 2019 prospects outside Hughes, because last year I spent way WAY too much time overanalyzing the prospects.
There generally doesn't seem to be much coverage of the 2019 kids yet from the usual suspects of Corey Pronman, the main Twitter guys (McKenzie, Lebrun, Dreger, etc.), and Hockey News. It'll be interesting to see more mock drafts come out once more teams join the Hawks in the basement. I desperately hope we get one of the top guys available. |

He only gets picked up if that team thinks getting a defense men form the hawks guarantees they go far in the playoffs (kempny daley) |

Davidson, Gustafsson, Anisimov and Forsling are participating in the Blackhawks morning skate.
Nice to see that they are all at least good enough to skate. |

You have to admit, it would be hilarious if we went three for three in that department. Not to mention, this board would explode. |

I hope the young kids gain solid NHL experience, Bowman dumps any piece(s) that aren't in the long term plans, has a sit down with the core if they want to be part of the rebuild, and they are a lottery team.
Drives me nuts another horrible signing is sent to Rockford since Bowman once again overpaid for a border line fringe NHL d man in Rutta. At what point does Wirtz look at these deals and grow tiresome of the money he's shelling out for little return?

Podkolzin is a beast and he's going to light up the World Juniors in a few weeks for Mother Russia. Silky smooth hands but VERY strong on the puck in all areas of the ice. He's got that Russian Country Strength and would be a fantastic consolation prize for losing the Lottery.
Also Elliotte Friedman on his 31 Thoughts Podcast for Sportsnet said that both the Rangers and Blackhawks are "gearing up to take a run at Panarin this summer".
He still thinks he ends up a Ranger but says the Hawks will try.....
EDIT: Could end up with the Mother Russia line next year of Panarin-Anisimov-Podkolzin???? |

So now that Rutta has cleared waivers and Davidson, Gustafsson, Anisimov and Forsling are skating, anyone want to update their opinion on a trade before the holiday deadline?
BTW Gustafsson back in for Manning for tonight’s
game.
Another note: Brandon Davidson said this is his third time skating and is surprised he's back practicing this early.
It was a meniscus injury and he was originally given a 6-8 week timetable: "Quick fix, no real damage, but something that we had to get under control."
General managers have until 11:59 p.m. local time on Wednesday, December 19 to make their moves. After that, they’ll have to wait until at least Friday, December 28 before they can start wheeling and dealing again.

Yes, play with only 1 defenseman when these 4 are out on the ice.

Agreed. Props to you about pointing him out first. He looks awesome. VERY curious to see what he does at the Juniors. I really think this kid is gonna be something special and could be had without having the #1 pick which is perfect for us.
I still think Panarin is going to be a Hawk once again...
Haha now that would be interesting. I'd at least throw that out there on the PP with Kane at the point. That would be fun to watch |
