A sad second period. This team is so bad. There are some nice pieces to work with, but it's really just a bottom level team at this point.

Agree. Not saying JL pumps prospects, because he doesn't. I honestly like them both. JJ was a bit more forceful and drew more strong opinions while JL seems to explore different angles a bit more, but both are tremendous and we were lucky to have JJ and think we're lucky to have Justin.

Both did and do great work.

Good to be partying on your side HawknD.

Football has been trash for a long while now, we got a team that plays bad ass defense and is pretty damn innovative on offense. Oh yea, and today they are champions. Not complaining about that.

- kwolf68

Yeah, I probably need to dial it back a bit here. Gotta work tomorrow...maybe.

North Champs, beat the Pack for the first time in like 3 or 4 years and Rodgers for only the 4th time in 17 tries.

Have to find it but since '92, the Bears are 14-40 vs the Packers. Times they are a changin'.

No, they likely won't get a bye with Rams and Saints rolling toward 14 wins.
- kwolf68

I forgot about the Saints. Ehh, no matter.

It's all about match-ups, and Bears defeated the Rams. I think they have as great of a shot at the title as anyone else does.

the thought on any team playing the hawks is no matter what they do, even if they get 1st, 2nd or 3rd goal...

hang in there they will make mistakes, their defense is a trainwreck, special teams are pathetic...they will beat themselves and we take advantage and skate away winners...

I wish Crow the best to get back to health, but big picture, him going down is probably a LONG TERM hit to the Hawks as I believe he could have been flipped to a Cup contender for young resources. With him heading back to concussion protocol (if that's the case) then chances of moving him to improve future just vanished.

Again, THE HEALTH is our main concern, but doesn't hurt to at least consider how it impacts the Hawks long term.

Only thing about the Saints is their experience. Brees is 100x better than Mitch right now. Mitch has never been to the playoffs. Brees has been a magician for a long time.

The Rams are a bit younger, I like our chances better against them. The Saints is the one team I can't see us beating, but the Superdome was good to the Bears before, maybe it will be again.

Would it be possible for the Hawks not to play the second period in any game and give the opposing team a two-goal lead that way they can save their energy for the third period for the incredible comeback that comes up short by One Goal.

We don't have Robbie to kick the winner......hopefully, we don't need him.

I get what you're saying about experience. I totally agree.

Mean while no one has even take a run at Evander Kane. F this team. Your best player who was just out bc his brains got scrambled gets run for no reason and zero response from the Hawks.

If Seabrook isn’t going to be anything but a 6-7 dmen at least he could bring some nasty. Someone had Erik Karlsson dead to rights in open ice near the end of the period and threw on the breaks/jumped out of the way of the hit.

This team is so mentally weak and unwilling to engage physically it’s a joke. Suck at hockey and let your best players get run.

That 1st PP is atrocious put Strome and Gustafson on it. Bench Seabs and Toews.

Brees is incredible and the Saints O-Line is a legit line. And unlike some years past they also play defense. That dome will be rocking. Mitch has NEVER been in any environment like that.

We play those guys down there, it's house money. Anyone "expecting" to win down there is delusional. NOT saying I won't be there rooting like hell, but like I said, it's house money. I think Saints are a lock for the Super Bowl personally.

If it is over for Crow, then screw Bettman and his "Hockey is for everyone". Keep the gang-bangers in the NBA!

Are you really going to make that play about race?

When they finally have a fix for both the first and second period. They will do nothing but fart away the turd... Tanking this season could be the best thing for this team moving forward.

Glass isn’t half-full or half-empty - it’s (frank)ing shattered.

Before we start the eulogies, let’s make sure he’s dead.

Screw going after Kane.

Start going after pucks - be hard on the scrums at the boards and win some battles - engage - clear the crease in front of your goalie (I’m thinking of you, Gus).

It's a good bet. But the thing that is great (for me anyway) in the NFL...is that there is no sure thing.

Home field helps, I think even moreso in domes, but the Saints offense was slowed down vs Dallas...granted it was in Dallas, but there's always hope. I don't think anyone's a lock from either conference this year.

Deja vu all over again. Almost one year to the day since Cro's last injury. At least we don't have to speculate what caused this one. Hoping that he recovers quickly, but a possible head injury so soon after taking 9-10 months to recover from the previous one doesn't look promising. I also hope that Hawk management is more forthcoming about his prognosis, as far as the HIPPA law allows.

Corey, I am sure I can speak for a lot of us posters that we appreciate what you have done for the team the past several years.
