To me there is no BUT
Canucks attack game is fine and developing.
Their defend game stinks . Most of the problems came from soft goals or horrible D from MDZ Pouliot Hutton and Gudbrandson
Hughes will step in next year for sure but OJ is not a guarantee . I know you want to sign Karlsson but that is a huge risk. He is not worth 11 mil.
Change the Left side next year and the following two years the right side. You guys say no quick fixes so time to practice what we preach. - VANTEL
It's not the defence's fault when Horvat misses a checking assignment or when Boeser coughs-up the puck.....but I agree, the defence stinks. |

If Horvat didn't score that goal to bring the game to overtime he never would have missed the checking assignment in OT.
Every single player makes mistakes . It is the frequency of how many times you make them that matters.
Boeser and Horvat have very little to do with the 115 goals against but do have 47 points combined on the 101 goals scored. They combine for 1/4 of the teams goals |

Who would you take with your 8 th over all pick if there was no RHD ranked that high?
Right now you have Tanev Stecher and Gudbrandson for at least one more year.
All of the LHD are without contract next year. The way Juolevi is going I would not pencil him in yet. I would go with Broberg at the draft. He sounds like a future Edler replacement. - VANTEL
What about Bowen Byram? Left hand shot but trending up |

That is a touchy situation IMO.
Bobrosky is what everyone says is the answer but he hasn't been great either.

We could make a trade ?
Boeser Bo Jake and Petey have 51 goals in 34 games not bad. |

This kid has been ranked right behind Broberg all year. From what I have read on him, he sounds like a defenseman that would help fix our goals against.
He is out your way, have you seen him play much?

No I haven't unfortunately. Just starting to look at draft picks and such for 2019. |

Edler for Kapanen or Johnsson . Cap issues for Leafs
Bring Zack MacKewen up next year
Hutton and Goldobin for Toffoli
OJ for Puljujarvi
Something like one of those

Because there are no RHD ranked that high. I don't care what side they play but unless you have missed the entire year Canucks D stinks. In the second round there are RHD. - VANTEL

The kid ranked at 8, where Lord Humus has us finishing at is the kid I have been wanting since last season.
Some good players in top 10.

With the lottery it's virtually impossible to predict where they'll draft except somewhere in the bottom ten, at least imo.
If they finish 6th last like they did last year they could draft 1-2-3 or 6-7-8-9 I think, it's just impossible to predict with any certainty. |

Here's a couple of CHL defenders to keep your eye on, outside the top 15 ranked
Thomas Harley LHD Miss. Steelheads OHL
Jake Lee LHD Sea. T-birds WHL
Billy Constantinou RHD King. Fronts. OHL
Grayson Ladd RHD Wind. Spits OHL
If JB could just draft them in that order in rounds 2-5
Pick a high end forward in the first round. |

Or maybe trade the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th x 2 and 7th round picks for an extra 1st. |

Matthew Boldy is really no different then Oliver Wahlstrom last season. He plays with Hughes. No different then Kieffer Bellows playing with Keller during his draft year.
That might be the worst rankings i've seen yet.
(frank)en has Guskov in the first round yet his teammate who has almost double his point production is not in the first round. |
