It wasn't the federal government, the province chose to do this.

I thought that was mississauga only?
- Fakepartofme

Mississauga/Oakville/All of York Region - Toronto is the last one left.

Just today Tory said he supports it, so I'm thinking it gets done.

I quit puffing down, once it was legal it didn't get me high anymore. I only do illegal drugs.

True story.

I just got home like an hour ago from going on a weed buying expedition here in Calgary. My dealer is awesome but the last two times I wasn’t impressed with the quality. So today I decide to walk to a store. I walked 18.9km (google maps verified) to try to find this place today just to find out that the prices for a qtr were $80+. I thought if I went there it would put the squeeze on my dealer, and it did. Dude calls me up and and offers me $45 a qtr, bomb quality, delivered. If you buy from the store you’re obviously very new to the whole smoking weed thing.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

illegally acquired weed (i assume you don't get hashish in canada) generally is way better quality at a lower price. which begs the question why people would even want legal weed stores..

It's so funny...Mississauga opted out...good thing, now there won't be anybody stoned on the devil's lettuce in Mississauga lololol...keep selling booze and smokes though, dumb bastards

How you go against a federal law like that over a commonly accepted product is beyond me. I can't imagine polls being in favour of it in Mississauga either.

- Zezel

Their loss. Theyll be missing out on loads of cash

Seems like a bad political strategy to make stoners have to travel to get their weed.

If there’s one thing we like, it’s convenience. As soon as they find a way to start voting from home by phones, these weed-hating politicians are finished!

It’s nice to have a store nearby if you just want a gram or something if your dealer is MIA.. I’d imagine there are also other perks for having one nearby.. tax benefits, or just the amusement of watching (mostly old) ppl blow their money.

Yeah, I honestly doubt it's gonna change much for me or most of my friends.
I think a lot of people will still get some from their old sources. It just might be slightly cheaper or they'll have more options. That and not as much worry about being busted.

We just don't have to worry as much about our plants getting spotted since you're allowed to have a few now.

The only other thing is that people will have to be more worried about getting caught driving high as I think they will now be able to test for that. Not a problem for me though since I never do, I always figured I'd be a poop driver if I was high lol.

You assumed wrong, lots of hash in Canada. Can buy it on the Reserve - online - from your dealer etc etc etc.

There's plenty of hash around here.

People like going legal. You know what you're going to get, who you're getting it from and so many don't care about the price.

When I was still bunning, the dispensaries were amazing. Having a menu of good quality stuff readily available was so much better than dealing with flaky jagoff weed dealers. Imagine going to some guy's living room to buy beer, if he's even home, and you get whatever he has that day? And he's a drunk? (frank) that.

Actually, yes, we do want this.

'Canna tourism' has been a thing in Toronto for the past few years and it's been amazing.

The more often you blaze, he less effect driving high has on your cognitive abilities. If you never blaze, then get behind the wheel bad things are likely to happen. But if you’re a frequent user, driving after consuming has zero effect whatsoever. There was a Dr on the JRE today talking about it, plus the 13 years experience I have doing so.

But I don’t mind the rules against but driving high.. no biggie.. but if they try to say I’m high like 3 hours after bunning that’s (frank)in bs.

I was in the grocery store after the gym and there was an amazing piece of steak in the meat counter, just calling my name. I decided that I could have it if I skipped the beer, and it's in the pan just ready to be cooked. They had green beans on sale too, so there's a nice big pile of them waiting to be steamed... Yum!
