could become the first overall pick in 2020

with ror leading the "tank"

So we package their 1st back to them with Okposo now for Tarasenko. Easy.

if we had a decent pp coach, his numbers could be better, as jack and skinners could
- homiedclown

Agreed. When we are rolling I think he can consistently hit 70 if not a hair more. The PP hindered his production as did his time on the 2nd and 3rd lines. Not saying I disagree (now) with Housley's decision, but he would probably be at a ppg if it weren't for these couple hiccups.

Wouldn't that signal to the world "Yep, we're tanking!"? Isn't that something teams are supposed to avoid?

We have no one timer threat from the right side either. Everything flows through Eichel on the PP. Everyone knows that too which makes it that much easier to defend and a lot harder for Eichel to produce.

I think the Blues will pass the Yotes, Canucks, Red Wings, and Sens when it's all said and done at the minimum. I don't think its set in stone that they are picking top 10 yet at the end of the day its only december. Florida played at a presidents trophy pace last season over the past 35 games and almost clinched a playoff spot last year. If they pick top 10 its in the 7-10 range. Even in that case they can always give us this years pick if they want to go for Lafreniere next year and avoid being next years Ottawa.
- Pegullaville

Which would signal to their fan base that they don't expect to be good next year

Which wouldn't go over well

Our first round picks over the next two years should all be untouchable. We are set up to be really good for a really long time. Don't Tim Murray us.

No. Just pointing out that wasn't the first time I have heard that.

Also interesting considering the "eye test" has shown Scandella to have a pretty rough year.

I still dont twat, twit, whatever its called. No idea of the significance of a hashtag, and if anyone tries 'splaining it I wont read it.
My mind is on making pierogis this weekend and turning 50 on Monday. And hockey. And women teeing off in tight dresses.

It's why I asked the question.

Reinhart is a curious case. He plays well with high-end talent, and I don't mean that as a knock. Your top end talent needs players that can skate with them. That said, a deep team, which is what Botterill is and should be focused on building, should be able to make up for that production. My guess is someone, whether it ends up being Buffalo or another team, is going to give him a contract he won't be able to live up to.

it hasn't been great for him, then again prejudices towards a player can cause us to over analyze every millisecond of his game...not saying he's been anything close to above average, but we've just seen three games of incredibly poor play from a player (Tennyson) who adds nothing to the team overall and people were equating Scandella's play to that early in the season...it wasn't a fair evaluation, imo

Leon is playing with the best center in the NHL

not a dig on Jack

unless the sabres win a cup or 2, Jack will be second fiddle to the Mcdavids and Matthews

I think my overall point was that perhaps the PK was something we took for granted. As bad as Scandella has looked, it's suffering without him. There's no doubt about it.
