I think my overall point was that perhaps the PK was something we took for granted. As bad as Scandella has looked, it's suffering without him. There's no doubt about it. - buffalofan19

Going to be very interesting to see what happens with Thompson and Pilut when the roster is fully healthy. - kingcong39
They’re going to have to waive a few guys or make a trade.
If they want to win games you can’t send down Pilut and Thompson for fringe NHL’ers |

8 games
they played the bolts, leafs, preds in that stretch as well as 3 other teams in the top half of goal scoring (flyers, sharks and panthers)
it's more the schedule then it is missing scandella |

Leon is playing with the best center in the NHL
not a dig on Jack
unless the sabres win a cup or 2, Jack will be second fiddle to the Mcdavids and Matthews
again not a dig on Jack - homiedclown
When you're talking about players of this caliber, the number of championships will weigh heavily in the "who's better" conversation. |

Thompson has had his moments and has a tremendous amount of skill, but his overall game is lacking and he hasn't scored a point in six games |

McDavid is the fastest skater and the most skilled with the puck (puck handling and passing) of the three.
Matthews is less of the two than McDavid but also freakishly powerful and also has the best shot.
Eichel isn't #1 in any of those categories, but still does all of them at an elite level. The win column is what will put him at the top if he gets there. |

IF HUNWICK IS BETTER THEN TENNYSON HE SHOULD BE PLAYING.
HE HAS BEEN AROUND THE GUYS AND WITH THE SABRES ALL YEAR.
THE DEFENSE IS A LITTLE BROKEN AS WELL.
NEEDS SOME FIXING - Boss34
We weren't talking about Hunwick coming in for Tennyson. We're talking about having the other 3 guys back as well as Hunwick.
The conversation started with what do you do with Pilut once Scandella, Nelson and McCabe are back. Then someone else mentioned that Hunwick adds even more cloudiness to that.
Sheesh. |

dahlin at the right point them moving to open ice the circle gives them that - Michael Pachla
Dahlin's shot isn't intimidating though. That was one of his only knocks as him coming out as a prospect was that his shot needed to be worked on. I think Skinner would be better on the right side and a guy like Mitts or Sheary as the slot option. |

What bothered me last night is:
Eichel
Skinner
Dahlin
Sam
And bogo on the ice together.
Why did they keep feeding bogo? He ended up with the puck too much. Apparently it's his shot?
He was having trouble accepting the pass, and keeping it in. Basic hockey skills |

it hasn't been great for him, then again prejudices towards a player can cause us to over analyze every millisecond of his game...not saying he's been anything close to above average, but we've just seen three games of incredibly poor play from a player (Tennyson) who adds nothing to the team overall and people were equating Scandella's play to that early in the season...it wasn't a fair evaluation, imo - Michael Pachla
I thought Scandella struggled early and has been just fine since. I stopped "noticing" him, which in the case of defensemen, isn't a bad thing. Was he lighting it up out there? No. But do we really need him to? |

The fact these words can be written regarding the Sabres is a breath of fresh air given the past several years.
It's been a long time since the Sabres played games they were expected to win. |

Agree.
8M is the ceiling IMO. Any more and he's gone at the deadline for a king's ransom.
I hope the Sabres stick on that 8M mark and don't budge. 9M is almost kucherov money...nnnnnnope. |
