If I was pressed to make a trade, I'd add a 2/3 C. Best case, Mitts takes back the 2 spot, new guy becomes high end 3C. - Sabresfan-365
Yeah, I was thinking Anisimov for a while. Homie brought up Namestnikov. I like the stop-gap 2C idea. Idk if Botterill would do it though |
|

Im too young for the modano comp, so I go with Malkin.
They're both woefully under-appreciated league wide as well - Sabresfan-365
Modano had that same size with speed that Eichel has, even a similar stride. |

If the age/cap hit are right it can be a permanent move. Having a 3rd line that can give you offense and defense goes a long way so it's not like the guy we bring in will become less important over time. |

If this Jack is the Jack that stays for the rest of his career here yes I will put him above Lafontaine.
But by far #11 is first. |

That whole line is playing like one cohesive unit. Eichel on pace for 108 points, Reinhart 77, and Skinner 84.
It really has been something to watch. Outside of Colorado's top line, has any other played better this season? - Mentalorgasm5
I got Colorado followed by Boston (with healthy Bergeron) then the Sabres are 3rd but not too far ahead of:
Hyman-Tavares-Marner
Johnson-Point-Kucherov
Laine/Ehlers-Scheifle-Wheeler
All of those lines are up there as well. |

I was having this same thought as well. The way I see it.
McDavid= Crosby
Laine= Stamkos (60 goal scorer version)
Matthews= Ovechkin minus the physicality
Eichel= Malkin. Very well could have been the 2nd best player in the world during his time although never got the respect he deserved.
Pettersson= Datsyuk. This oone may be premature but every time I watch him play that’s who I think of. |

He reminds me a lot of in prime Rick Nash. If he got to play on a team like the leafs he'd have gotten way more recognition.
scored 40 and was above average defensively on an eye sore Jackets team. |

Disagree. Patty was our best forward, ever (IMHO).
Hasek = best Sabre ever - but I think most of us would agree with that. - kritter65
Sorry Kritter but you probably aren't old enough to have seen Gilbert Perreault play. He's the best non-goalie we ever had. Haskek is the best Sabre ever - agreed. |

Brayden Schenn? - kingcong39
No, I mentioned him earlier but he has 1 more year left. We should make a play for a player with more term but not until Skinner is done. |

I dont want him permanently shifted to wing, just for a while, then move him back to centre. - Sabresfan-365
Yeah, it's not an indictment on him, lots of young centers go back and forth or just stay on the wing for a few years. |

Great win today. Late to the party but here are my random observatrions:
- don't touch the Jack/Skinner/Rhino line. It's working
- Dahlin is the real deal
- Risto is playing in beast mode.
- our PK guys (Larsson, Girgs, Scandella, Risto, EROD and Sobotka) doing a heckuva a job
- Ullmark/Hutton - what a great, incredible affordable goalie combination. So much better than anything we have had in years
- Our #1 PP is scary looking
- really impressed with some guys that I have ragged on for the past 2 years- Larsson, Girgs, Bogo and Blow-you
- However, unlike others, i am not re-signing Bogo or Blow-you. Would rather have guys like Pilut and Guhle on the ice
- Hunwick looked OK out there. Glad to have him on the team as a depth defencemen. MUCH better than having Tennyson anywhere near the ice
- we really need some secondary scoring. Jack's line will have off/bad games and we need some other guys to step up
- Our coach and GM should be hands down winners for coach and GM of the year respectively.
And finally, eff off Leafs and eff off Bruins. |

Hard to beat teams if we only have 1 scoring line. 37 needs better wingers, we should dump Okposo to the 3rd line. |

No thuman?
I loved Bruce, but the dominator played the whole game.
With a much lesser team around him.
The Bill's offense would line up 11 guys better the guys we were facing. Right across the board.
Bruce is the best defensive end ever. - Boss34
Reggie White
Bruce Smith
Deacon Jones 173.5 unofficial sacks, they didn't start counting until the 80's or he'd be 3rd all time. |

Depending on the ask, he might be a good shelter center for Casey for this year and next to give Casey more time to develop. |

I’m torn. The eras that they played in were so different. Perreault could take over games. Rick Martin was a pure sniper. What a shot.
Hasek was the best Sabre ever. A generational talent. Position aside.
LaFontaine was a combination of speed and skill in one. So fun to watch.
Eichel is speed, skill and power playing against defenses geared towards taking away his space.
The jury is still out IMO. |

I don't disagree, but he's probably gunna get 6-ish mil on a long term deal. I dont think that works for us. |

Reggie white always played on better teams.... Bruce got double/triple teamed while white might get doubled occasionally. That spin move Bruce had was deadly.
