Well, unless the Rangers eat salary on some of these deals, who would want some of these guys under contract? Kreider, Zib and Lundqvist. That is about it. Lundqvist, until he says otherwise is non conversation. Nobody wants Strome, Vesey, Smith, Staal, Shattenkirk, Skjei, Vlad. They stink. The Rangers season in the midst of ending. Whatever isn't nailed down has to go, if you're unsure if they can be retained. And in terms of Zucc and Mcquaid, it's age. Sorry. It's not personal, just business. - tomburton99
Nah i heard no one else wants Kreider |

No, its just dumb. You take each player individually its not black and white. Its like saying everyone who is under contract should stay regardless how bad they are. - mdw7413
Did you just assume there are only 2 colors?

Tell the Leafs, Kings, Blackhawks and Penguins that. It's a high risk business, but also the potential for high rewards. |

We will agree to disagree, and I would say that none of those teams got rid of every single UFA every single year, if I had to guess |

Not every single year, but when when Brendan Shannahan was hired he told MLSE that the Leafs needed this...

all I'm saying is, if Hayes turns into our Tavares and leaves for nothing. I will kill someone. |

Trading Hayes at this point is just dumb. There is no way we get a killing for him. Getting a low first round draft choice and fodder is just a bad conceived idea. The drafted player wont even project to where is Hayes is right now for real.
Some folks have so much faith in the Rangers ability to nail draft choices. We will be in a perceptual poop hole.
Did I say it is dumb? It is! That is all.

The Blues movd Stastny for a prospect, a 1st and 4th last year. Hayes could get that in return. He's younger and finally on pace to crack that 50 point mark. (65 point pace right now, don't expect that continue.) |

Yeah pretty much, but the Rangers can get a player like him while keeping the cost down.
Edit: and hope they stumble into something into Evgeny Kuznetsov. Get lucky and get a legit first line player later in the round. |

i think the difference though is that hayes will probably be trending downwards by the time we're competitive again, while another prospect or pick would hopefully be entering their prime when we're competitive.
No idea how soon we'll be competitive again, but that's the view I take. I'm assuming we'll have a good hayes when it doesn't matter because we'll be bad. |

We are going to be the Oilers or Buffalo. Look how impressive our young team is and all these draft picks!!!
Oh yeah, they suck at hockey though |
