Yes, the asshat reported is the one truly at fault here. But right or wrong, that reporter (who published this story in a somewhat reputable paper) has poked an already pissed off hornet nest, and hell has pretty much broken loose among the fan base. - jmatchett383
Not like the flyers have that many quality writers to begin with (no offense bill you're obviously not included here). But where theres smoke theres usually fire. I dont think isaac or anyone else made this story up I think the flyers organization intends on firing hakstol. And I think the leading candidate is Q (if he wants the job). And why wouldn't you ? 2nd most wins in NHL history and 3 cups. Not to mention the allure he has to almost every NHL player going into an off season where we want to attract talent.
The timing may have been irresponsible but to me it's more irresponsible to have the intention of firing someone and being too soft to do it. Who cares what anyone will think about the timing? Do what you think has to be done. I want a decision maker in power . |

If he is healthy why can't he play?
I am also thinking they were looking for best chance to win. Team needed wins. - J35Bacher
I don't disagree, but why do baseball teams go with 5-man rotations? Why not put the pitcher out there every 3 days, especially if he's gonna get pulled after 6 innings? I mean, they're healthy, right? |

We're talking about the same fanbase that relentlessly booed Mike Richards every time he took the puck in his first game back after he was traded. You know, when he signed an 11-year contract to play with the Flyers and management decided to ship him elsewhere. Those are the fans we're talking about, right? - jmatchett383
I was at that game. Have a picture of him vs g in the faceoff circle. They started to cheer him at the beginning the game. It wasn't until he scored that they started booing. |

Certainly not the fault of the Flyers. Overreaction on the part of the fans. - Dkos
That's why I said "right or wrong." It's (probably) not the Flyers' fault this happened, but it did. |

No, they cheered him first first shift and cheered the video montage. He also flattened Voracek. After the montage, they booed him.
Also he didn't score that game, he assisted on Doughty's OT goal. |

Assisted scored you get the point. But started as a cheer and than went to boo. |

Can't compare sports.
If he was deemed healthy I am ok with it.
Also this is a player who hasn't played much this year so there shouldn't be that wear yet.
i understand what people say just don;t feel like it was Hakstols fault. |

I know I was trying to build a foundation for an constructive conversation rather than talking while missing each other’s points - Shrike
I know. Look, I don't think Hakstol is the right man for the job right now and I wanted him gone before last season. But I'm not gonna rip the guy constantly because what's the point?
Also, please stop making it the Flyers vs. the fans. The Flyers fired Hextall because their fans were losing interest, so that's not the case. |

Right or wrong.
If he is up I want him to play. Does not good to just sit unless this is a one game thing for Elliott to be back for Thursday |

Yeah. Assisted in OT, at the end of the game.
They booed him throughout the 2nd and 3rd. |

Carter Hart recalled. I don't agree with this move, the way this team is playing the Flyers are going to ruin this kid. |

I think we all agreed that Hart shouldn't be called up unless there are at least 3 of our goalies injured (or unable to play).
Well...here we are. |

Kind of weird but hakstol was able to get to the playoffs with probably lesser talent then the team he has today.
I think the change is need to just change the optics. Yes he is the scape goat and it might not work but maybe it does and gets this team going. |

Would you prefer they sign the guy in Section 104 and have him backup Lyon? What's the alternative choice? |

Well they kind of needed a goalie.
Neuvirth out
Elliott out
Stolarz out
It could just be a one game thing if Elliott or Neuvirth are back thursday |

The rough part is that one also signs his or her family up for that roller coaster ride, too. No matter what anyone may say, money doesn't make up for things that are hurtful to the people you love. Today's social media age is especially brutal and downright inhuman at times.
Thank you, Bill. |

I think they will fire Hakstol soon. But I think they want to have a plan going forward, and they want to get their ducks in a row. |
