I want them to hire the local High School Coach from Gloucester Catholic just to see Nutters reaction.

I get everyone tries to project who a kid will be but I hope Carter hart becomes Carter hart in the NHL. A head strong kid who has exceeded on every level. And always comes back from a poor showing better.

Your wish has been granted!

Comparisons will never go away, next time a superior skating center enters the league he will be compared to McDavid that is just how it is.

Having been alive a long time (some criticize this) and having followed the Flyers since their inception and having a memory like a sieve, I can forgive nearly anything. It's how you can retain your idle, idol worship from afar.
I subscribe to Center Ice due to my move in 1977 to Tampa Bay.
When the Lightning arrived I did not switch allegiance. I only added an addendum to my 'Pay Attention' list. I had given up every other sport because I am not a gambler and what does following a team do? It just eats time.
But it can be enormous fun.
Dave Hakstol took my fun away.
The fans here and elsewhere expect more from this truly discretionary, disposable income and time expenditures. Here, now, it's as if you kept paying to be disappointed, suffering blue balls after hiring a hooker sort of thing.
How many times do you go to a dry well?
My feelings are that Hextall was sabotaged by his disinclination to be a gambler. As has been stated only one team in this pancake stack gets displayed with a fresh butter pat. The only way to get there is to bet and to time that bet well.
Ron failed in the timing due to unexpected adversity (Admit it. Who predicted this goalie carousel?) and coaches of slightly less than average capacity competing in a pro world.
My sentiments run to having kept Ron and informing him that Hakstol was to be sacrificed NO MATTER WHAT and anybody behind that bench.
Well that certainly didn't happen.
Now the clown car is full to capacity and when the they enter the center ring they will be dumped onto the ice in the emotional equivalent of street shoes.
The king pins at comcast know how to make money. It's the single metric they must achieve (unless you are looting the company ala Sears). Achieved by jacking their prices on helpless subscribers in an allowed monopoly.
So you now have hired a band of cutthroats to run an enterprise that MUST connect emotionally with the consumer base. How's that working? Snider was a fan. It protected the team from the gross deprivations and exploitation that is the calling card of Corpserations (sic).
Ron was a fan. Hakstol was a hire. One stood by his best intentions and the other fussed around the edges. Their bosses stood by the register. And when that bell doesn't ring, it tolls for thee.
So this crap shoot has turned into a crap show. The alteration of top management's desires (a salable, this quarter profitable, product not an actually good fantasy world for us to inhabit) with the restless fans overwhelming misery emerging and ta-da!, we end up in a confused mess.
Crossed purposes.
Many folks seem to be intimately aware of every twitch of this corpse but don't recognize that the heart has been misplaced and it may NEVER be found.
We want to cheer. We want our booing to be of use. Now we have mendacity instead of charity and our emotional involvement may be marked for execution.
I can easily turn my 'one team, tightly followed' philosophy to a successful franchise locally. At the conclusion of this decade (I'm so old decades are numbered like Super Bowls and I know what those Roman Numerals stand for. OLD! It was tough doing multiplication.) I am going to choose to further my fandom with a team I have watched since their beginning or to close this out.
Every negative comment sounds about right. As stated elsewhere in this thread, they have to be able to sell hope. I have hope, stop dashing it, G-D it!
To ComCast HIRE A FAN TO RUN this subsidiary. This isn't a matter of efficiently robbing the clientele, what you already do so well, it's making folks attach to the Flying P.
Now back to your regularly scheduled kvetching.
Was I being micro-aggressive here? I hope not because I'm effing serious about this and this is balls out, eff you stuff. It's a 'nice' site. Why I don't post much? Maybe. Mostly you folks post enough that reflects my thinking and why add to the heap? I use to but WTF, it's not needed.
Go Flyers!! Make me care, please.

So Gordon's the interim, and I'm fine with that

Maybe he'll be more willing to play Lindblom and they can bring up NAK

I'm totally serious when I say they need to get some of these heart-challenged quitters off the roster

Who cares. A baboon is better than Hak.

It’s just temp. Gordon isn’t here come next year. They publically called him the interim.

Player comparisons....play style, attributes, strengths and weaknesses, situation (hype and expectations for this comparison).

Season and career accomplishments can not be compared or used until both parties have enough the same to compare.

- Glak18

Agreed, which is why I said I am hoping Hart can put up similar statistics as price has.
