Would you prefer they sign the guy in Section 104 and have him backup Lyon? What's the alternative choice?
- jmatchett383

Exactly. He must be the only healthy guy left.

Welp, I didn't think they'd do it, but I get it

It's irrelevant whether I agree or disagree with it, because I don't honestly see what alternative they had -- Stolarz is hurt. Going Neuvirth/Lyon or Lyon/Neuvirth is just asinine, because of Neuvirth's play. You shouldn't reward Neurvirth with a roster spot, tbh

I assume Lyon will still start. Stoly on ir. Neuvirth on paternity. Elliot still out.
- Tfaehner

Lyon already sent back to AHL per Charlie O'Connor. He also said he expects Hart to start and Neuvirth to back him up. I see this going 2 different ways potentially the team now rallies because Hart has been called up and they don't want to hang him out to dry or they continue their horrible play and Hart gets ruined in the process. Either way Flyers are playing with fire here with one of their most important prospects. I don't care how good Hart is there is a reason why most goalies don't start in the NHL without a year or two of AHL experience first. Sure he's played better as of late but he hasn't even played half a season in the minors yet. Bad move in my opinion.

"Alex Lyon was also sent to the AHL so that would insinuate Hart would make his NHL debut tomorrow with Michal Neuvirth as his backup."

Well that changes things.

Right or wrong.

If he is up I want him to play. Does not good to just sit unless this is a one game thing for Elliott to be back for Thursday

- J35Bacher

Well, I hope he is backing up. Really, starting him now?!!! It is also possible that it would be short term due to a trade in the works.

No, they cheered him first first shift and cheered the video montage. He also flattened Voracek. After the montage, they booed him.

Also he didn't score that game, he assisted on Doughty's OT goal.

- jmatchett383

I was at that game too and have memory of Richards scoring from the point on a PP. I remember the video montage and people cheering and him never acknowledging the fans which I thought was kind of classless. That said he was always a player I liked a lot.

What other option do they have vs making a kneed jerk trade option?

Isaac? We can't trust that hack!

That being said, have we traded our bad players for other teams good players yet?

Why try to sell something that, right or wrong, a majority of people don’t want to buy?

“Give people what they want, and they will come out to see it.”

- Shrike

And if the flyers thinking that Ron Hextall was the reason fans weren’t coming out is a disturbing lack of situational awareness that could be corrected by accepting that what they hear in the arena accurately reflects the opinion of a majority of the fan base

Let's be honest: They didn't bring him up to sit

You could've kept Lyon up if you weren't gonna play Hart

He plays tomorrow

Play Lyon. This is a lost season anyhow, exposing Hart to this mess isn't the right thing to do.

You asked for my "opinion," i.e. what I think. I told you. The last part was not directed at you, it was for captain passive-aggressive.
- jmatchett383

I actually think you're opinion on Hakstol is about right there, Captain sarcastic.

Nevermind.

We are hitting 1000

Could Fletcher have sold Scott and Holmgren he needs to move vets and kind of rehape the roster to be successful moving forward?

Could they end of selling off guys like Voracek, Simmonds, Raffl and maybe other players. Opposite of what people think would happen and kind of rebuild in a way for next year. Let Hart play and develop in the NHL?

Just kind of thinking out loud and hoping to get maybe some other thoughts from you guys.
