Nevermind.
We are hitting 1000
Could Fletcher have sold Scott and Holmgren he needs to move vets and kind of rehape the roster to be successful moving forward?
Could they end of selling off guys like Voracek, Simmonds, Raffl and maybe other players. Opposite of what people think would happen and kind of rebuild in a way for next year. Let Hart play and develop in the NHL?
Just kind of thinking out loud and hoping to get maybe some other thoughts from you guys. - J35Bacher
I think that throwing a guy with like 20 games of minor league pro experience into this tire fire is a terrible idea.
If it's just 1-2 games, then fine. Otherwise......
In other words...bring back Hextall??? |

Both nervous and excited to see Hart’s debut tomorrow - arichardson22
I'd move more than a few other guys before I put that kid on the ice with the lifeless, soft squad we saw in Edmonton and Vancouver, but that's just me
I wish him luck. They didn't want to do it, but there's nothing out there for them to get to help them |
|

Would you prefer they sign the guy in Section 104 and have him backup Lyon? What's the alternative choice? - jmatchett383

Well, if Neuvirth is the backup, they could have kept Lyon up. |

As I mentioned earlier there is a reason why goalies always spend time in the AHL for a while prior to being called up. The jump in competition from the CHL to the NHL is an enormous gap for a goaltender in terms of the shooters he would face and level of scoring chances. Hart has barely even played 3 months in the minors and has only started to play well maybe 3 or so weeks ago. This move is shortsighted. I hope Hart tears it up with the big club but it could all go bad very quickly if the team doesn't commit to playing defence in front of him and with the way they have been performing recently I don't have faith that they will. |

I was wondering that too.
With the roster freeze on Wednesday, maybe they have Hart for tomorrow night because they are making a move either today or tomorrow for a goalie. There has to be more to this coming. |

That shows you a couple of things: They honestly don't think Lyon can stop enough pucks for them to win, and they don't trust Neuvirth
It's wrong to do this to this kid. But I can see where they're coming from |

No biggie.
I just remember a friend of mine coming over to my seat after the game (we were both wearing Richards jerseys) furious about how the fans treated him. |

Dave Isaac:
"Alex Lyon was also sent to the AHL so that would insinuate Hart would make his NHL debut tomorrow with Michal Neuvirth as his backup."
Well that changes things. - jmatchett383

This is the one reason I never get attached to players. They are all mercenaries.

If Hart is backing up I have no issue with this maybe they want to reward the kid for playing well down there but if he's starting over Neuvirth I think it's a mistake. |

Time to change things up by starting Jean-Marc Pelletier.
Because throwing a young AHL goalie into that tire fire went well and didn't piss off the vets. |

There was no doubt, really -- they know what it meant to call him up
I sincerely doubt he's up for more than a week or two, if even that. He just might get lit up tomorrow. Detroit got off to a poop start but they are putting pucks in the net now |

dave Scott “maybe they won’t remember that we didn’t fire hakstol if we call up and start carter hart. Oh and tell me again why we didn’t fire hakstol, it sounded really stupid the first time you told me.” |

Well, Hexy always said that he's only going to call players up when he thinks they're ready for a roster spot, not as a trial.
Wait, they did what with Hextall? |

My only explanation for the call up would be management thinks bringing up Hart could possibly get the team to come together and begin to play well in front of him. With the way this team has been performing of late though that's a tough ask of this group. |
