There was no doubt, really -- they know what it meant to call him up
I sincerely doubt he's up for more than a week or two, if even that. He just might get lit up tomorrow. Detroit got off to a poop start but they are putting pucks in the net now - AllInForFlyers

dave Scott “maybe they won’t remember that we didn’t fire hakstol if we call up and start carter hart. Oh and tell me again why we didn’t fire hakstol, it sounded really stupid the first time you told me.” - Shrike
It's not Hakstol's fault what happened yesterday, and I don't think the fans should influence what you do, but holy hell, it's starting to feel like they're gonna have him behind the bench tomorrow
I've followed this team since 1979-80. That has got to be on the short list of craziest poop I would ever have seen them do, if he's behind the bench tomorrow, because they totally quit on him in Edmonton |

That makes a lot of sense.
Again, not personal, I just don't think you have the perspective of people in a large corporation. |

Nevermind.
We are hitting 1000
Could Fletcher have sold Scott and Holmgren he needs to move vets and kind of rehape the roster to be successful moving forward?
Could they end of selling off guys like Voracek, Simmonds, Raffl and maybe other players. Opposite of what people think would happen and kind of rebuild in a way for next year. Let Hart play and develop in the NHL?
Just kind of thinking out loud and hoping to get maybe some other thoughts from you guys. - J35Bacher
My thoughts are that they fired Hextall because the rebuild wasn't moving along fast enough and Hextall wasn't aggressive enough. The team wasn't winning enough or relevant enough. Now the new GM is going to sell them on taking a deeper rebuild? I also think that Fletcher has been burning up the phones and finding the same thing that Hextall did. The trade market is prohibitive.

Dave Isaac:
"Alex Lyon was also sent to the AHL so that would insinuate Hart would make his NHL debut tomorrow with Michal Neuvirth as his backup."
Well that changes things. - jmatchett383

I don’t disagree
But I also don’t think corporations do a good job of serving or representing people. |

Phantoms play Wednesday. IMO it's really a bad idea to start Hart with the way this team is playing. If a nervous Hart lets in a bad goal or two the team will fold like a house of cards.
Just when you think this circus can't get more circusey it does. |

Good perspective. - jmatchett383
The mid-90s through 2006-07 were about the craziest things I've ever seen from a professional franchise
Just crazy poop. I still get nervous tics when I think about the phrase "Forsberg's boot"

This is the most Flyers thing they ever could have done. Finally have a goalie prospect that looks like he could be really good. Proceed to call him up to early , shatter his confidence because the team in front of him is garbage and ruin him. |

That is because corporations are actually in the business of making money and sometimes that doesnt translate well to serving or representing people. |

Corporations don't serve customers, they serve stockholders. This was true in Ed Snider's time, he simply was a fan as well as the CEO. He wanted the team to win because he knew that a winning team was a lucrative team. Look at Pittsburgh, who were destined to move 13 years ago.
So you don't just fire a coach on a whim hoping it will improve with no plan in place, because as far as stockholders are concerned things can get worse. As fans, we're pretty much at rock bottom. |

If Lyon is healthy, why isn't he starting? This is a calculated move and one which I think will backfire almsot immediately. Bring back Hexy |

Or he could see the way they have backed Dave hakstol and he could think that even if he played naked standing in the corner, there is no way he could lose the support of this organization |
